  1. Nobody is going to trade anyone right now, and the Sox are trading from a position of weakness, making any deal that much more expensive.even if it was more towards trading season.
  2. Perez has had a lot of big hits against the Sox over the years. Edit - not this time
  3. This is firmly tongue in cheek, right? if it’s serious, what is your issue with Campbell?
  4. And with Bello starting, you know they will have to cover 3 and possibly 4 innings.
  5. I can think of almost nothing more boring than professional pumpkin chucking. Hallmark movies perhaps.
  6. But like most of the starters recently, he’s given them a chance of the offense can do anything.
  7. You know what I really don’t see with Devers? The joy he had when he first came up. He was always smiling. We haven’t seen that the past few years.
  8. I’m coming around to that opinion. I don’t see him as the kind of guy that would do what Story did last season, doing everything he could to get back on the field in September to help the team in the playoff chase.
  9. It’s not the hands on that type of play; it’s the ability to ignore the runner bearing in on you and not short arm the ball, and that only comes with time. I agree that Devers could be a pretty good 1B if he wants to put in the work. But does he?
  10. Mahle came into tonight with an ERA of 1.19; he’s doing something right this year. I read an article the other day about how the 2018 club showed up at the park expecting to win. They didn’t know how, but they knew they would. This club seems to show up expecting to lose. They don’t know how …
  11. Yeah, that’s probably it. It’s the kind of play that points to why you just don’t throw a guy over there. An experienced guy probably comes up with that. As poor a Casas was, he saved several throwing errors this year.
  12. It was a bad throw, but I’d still like to know how the runner at first was safe.
  13. MLB will never admit it, but Angel essentially was fired last May. There was an ump who was fired for gambling; might have been last year. I recall a couple guys fired back in the 60s, supposedly for performance but they were also involved in the trying to organize the umpire’s union.
  14. Cmon, as an umpire, he’s doing the absolute best job of his career right now.
  15. The rectangle is fine on the sides; up and down it’s worthless. NESNs is the same size vertically for Judge and Altuve.
  16. He does a passable job on the bases (not great, but he’s not awful). He’s horrible behind the plate. So in that regard, he’s better than Angel Hernandez was (who sucked at all aspects of umpiring). But then, my one year old grandson might be better than old Angel.
  17. Sounds like a post designed to up his clicks. He may be closer to the team than any of us, but I have have doubts he “knows”.
  18. Hey, let’s put a moratorium on complaints about the strike zone tonight. It’s CB Bucknor, it’s going to suck.
  19. Maybe because he just pitched Sunday? I know he only went 5 innings, but still … Pretty sure you’ll see him in KC on Friday. If they run through all 5 starters, with the off day, it will be Saturday
  20. Because their number one goal is to piss talksox posters off. You do realize they are all of 2 games out of first place, right?
  21. Uh huh. I’m trying to refrain from laughing at the internet tough guy routine.
  22. That’s your opinion. Question, would you say that to his face? Everyone here thinks they are smarter than every manager. He’s not the best in the league, he’s not the worst. I know I don’t want that job.
  23. Don’t see that happening. Bobby’s best bet was a fresh start somewhere else and he failed at that as well.
