    Both unearned. The error started the inning (1 out). Valdez’s good play would have been the second out and the fly to center that moved Roberts to 3rd would have ended the inning (I.e., the chopper that scored him doesn’t happen).

    Story got a decent jump. That White Sox catcher combines a strong arm and a quick release. He’s really good in that aspect of the game; Red Sox have now seen that up close. That should stop the running game for today.

    Whenever I see a grand slam, I’m always reminded that Jim Palmer allowed 303 homers in his 19 year major league career. That covered 558 appearances and nearly 4000 innings. He allowed exactly 0 grand slams. He did allow 1 in the minors to some slug named Bench.

    Those have been strikes. Did you see that the top of the box was at Yoshida’s waist? That tv box never changes up and down. It’s horribly bad vertically.
