  1. Don’t know about the rest of his career, but almost certainly the rest of this year.
  2. Actually, so have the Pale Hose and the Mariners. You’re splitting hairs though. The AL average runs per game allowed is 4.33. Since every team has played about 100 games to date, that means over the course of the entire season, the Sox have allowed a grand total of 2 more runs over the average AL team. One more thing we can blame on Abraham Toro since he allowed 2 runs in his mop up relief appearance.
  3. I noted this in today’s game thread, Duran has virtually stopped attempting to steal bases. In March/April, he stole 10 bags in 13 attempts (Sox played 32 games) Since then, he is only 6 for 8 (Sox have played 69 games): May 3 for 5, June 2 for 2, July 1 for 1. Any ideas?
  4. True; my response was more for those who want Narvaez in the lineup every day.
  5. That’s fine; no issue with that. Wong has played his way out of a job. It’s not like he’s hitting hard shots at people. His swings don’t even look competitive. Narvaez could DH, but really, offensively he’s not that different than Yoshida. Modest power, will hit his share of doubles.
  6. Narvaez can’t catch every game; no catcher can. He’s already showing some signs of fatigue.
  7. Like I said earlier, watching Bregman last weekend and this one, he obviously isn’t 100%. I don’t have a problem taking it a little easy with him for a while. I want him available for as many games as possible the rest of the way.
  8. Bregman? Have to wonder if Redsnyder s ill as this would be the optimal spot for him. Edit - That’s why I’m posting here and not managing a major league team. Second edit - Forgot Yoshida is in left today, not DH. Makes more sense now for D.
  9. I think you’re right, but the lack of attempts is alarming.
  10. I still remember the 1966 World Series, O’s swept the Dodgers by scores of 5-2, 6-0, 1-0 and 1-0.
  11. Duran had a terrible short secondary off 3rd there, even with Horton in the wind up.
  12. Of late, he hasn’t even tried to steal second. He’s only had 6 steals in 8 attempts since the end of April. In May he was 3 out of 5, June 2 for 2 and July 1 for 1.
  13. That’s the first one he’s missed today IMO. Not a good spot for that to happen for Crochet, but at least it ultimately only cost Garrett 3 extra pitches.
  14. I thought he was out live; replay was a lot closer than I thought it would be.
  15. That last out was an example of how the wind really affects things. That ball may have cleared the bleachers yesterday.
  16. Well, minor progress. At least a couple of hard hit balls at’em that inning.
  17. The short answer is no. The long answer is no, he doesn’t. You only see posts from him if things are not going well. The minute they do, he disappears. dmoney is/was the same way.
  18. Got lucky on the pickoff; Crochet easily could have been called for obstruction. Cubs with a couple of lucky hits this inning, but that’s baseball.
