  1. Lefties are making better contact against Ragans than the righties tonight. Have to admit, this kid’s got stuff; need to somehow get his pitch count up and hope for the best against a good KC pen.
  2. Tomorrow’s game, which on paper should be a 3-2 type will probably be 11-10.
  3. Who’s been pretty good tonight. Big zone, but consistent.
  4. Do you use Chapman for a second inning? If not, who comes in?
  5. I thought Devers was out in real time. Nice job by Duran with 2 strikes.
  6. Can’t because a much tougher thing to do in baseball than pinch hit against a guy like Chapman.
  7. Agreed, but Wong still probably strikes out, rendering it moot.
  8. He’s been much too good with the bat to send down. Yeah, he’s in a slump right now, but sending down your current clean up hitter? If he has to learn to play 1st, then it’s going to be is Boston, and you live with the defensive ups and downs that that entails. I think they’ve finally decided to leave him at second instead of bouncing him around. I’d leave him there and figure something else out.
  9. Nobody is going to trade anyone right now, and the Sox are trading from a position of weakness, making any deal that much more expensive.even if it was more towards trading season.
  10. Perez has had a lot of big hits against the Sox over the years. Edit - not this time
  11. This is firmly tongue in cheek, right? if it’s serious, what is your issue with Campbell?
  12. And with Bello starting, you know they will have to cover 3 and possibly 4 innings.
  13. I can think of almost nothing more boring than professional pumpkin chucking. Hallmark movies perhaps.
  14. But like most of the starters recently, he’s given them a chance of the offense can do anything.
  15. You know what I really don’t see with Devers? The joy he had when he first came up. He was always smiling. We haven’t seen that the past few years.
  16. I’m coming around to that opinion. I don’t see him as the kind of guy that would do what Story did last season, doing everything he could to get back on the field in September to help the team in the playoff chase.
  17. It’s not the hands on that type of play; it’s the ability to ignore the runner bearing in on you and not short arm the ball, and that only comes with time. I agree that Devers could be a pretty good 1B if he wants to put in the work. But does he?
  18. Mahle came into tonight with an ERA of 1.19; he’s doing something right this year. I read an article the other day about how the 2018 club showed up at the park expecting to win. They didn’t know how, but they knew they would. This club seems to show up expecting to lose. They don’t know how …
  19. Yeah, that’s probably it. It’s the kind of play that points to why you just don’t throw a guy over there. An experienced guy probably comes up with that. As poor a Casas was, he saved several throwing errors this year.
