  1. For all of Devers offensive woes, he has really come around defensively.
  2. Jones is a far more disciplined hitter; always has been.
  3. Kimbrel warming in case by some miracle the Sox score.
  4. I repeat my previous prediction; at some point one of Jones/Davis/Trumbo/Mancini is going to run into one to win it for the Birds.
  5. You don't even know Workman's name but you would have brought him in to start the inning?
  6. They are falling into the classic trap of trying to end it with one swing. It seldom works.
  7. All of you, who would you have brought in? Keep in mind the Sox are on the road, a save is possible.
  8. Weird part is Holt has really good numbers against Bundy (something like 6-11) while Nunex came in 1-5. But maybe Holt is under the weather or something. We don't always hear about those things. Machado apprently isn't playing due to some ailment.
  9. Was very nervous there when OB said Jones was 0-16 lifetime against Kelly; the announcers curse and the fact that Jones is a good hitter.
  10. Hope Kelly had enough time to get fully ready; Jones has always been tough on the Sox.
  11. Devers would do well to cut the swing down a little on 2 strikes and just try for the single.
  12. Did Devers just foul that off the bounce?
  13. I'd like to see Bogaerts try and take 2nd here. May not work but you have to be a little aggressive in a game like this.
  14. Bundy isn't horrible. Looking at his game logs for this year, he's given up 40 runs (34 earned) in 12 starts. 22 (19) of those were in 3 games in late April/early May. Otherwise he's been more than decent (2.02 ERA in his other 9 starts). Tonight seems like another game where the opposing pitcher is throwing pretty well and the Sox slumping as a unit, with both being contributing factors.
  15. Unfortunately, this has all the makings of a Davis or Mancini running into one for a homer to win it for the Birds.
  16. Thought you were banning yourself LOL
  17. There was definitely a lack of focus this entire series. The DP ball was Devers covering 2nd due to the shift; he got the error. (personally, if you are going to shift, leave Bogaerts in his normal position and put Devers/Nunez on the right side, then only one guy is playing out of place). As for pitching, don't let Lopez's record fool you. He's a very good young pitcher. There have been 4 games this year where he has gone 7 or more innings and allowed 2 hits or less. That's tied for the Major League lead with Jon Lester. He's got a lot of there there. As soon as he figures out consistency (and he will), he's going to be very tough.
  18. Don’t really care if you want to hear it. It happens to be true.
  19. Starting pitching was not the problem for the Red Sox this series. I think they allowed 6 runs (5 earned) in what, 19 or 20 innings. Like I said above, Betts being out of the line-up is starting to have an effect.
  20. And don’t let anyone be misled, the White Sox have some good young pitchers. They took 2 of 3 last weekend from the Brewers who had the best record in the NL at the time. I look for them to be an improved team as the year goes on. You are going have to show up to beat them, not just throw your gloves on the field.
  21. Were you complaining before the inning started? Otherwise it’s 20-20 hindsight. Offensively, you are starting to see the effects of Betts not being able to play.
  22. Would have been out if Leon catches the ball though. Pale hose will win this one in part due to smart aggressive base running. BoSox will lose in part due to lack of it (Moreland). White Sox have also made plays in the field, the Red Sox have not.
  23. Different kind of wear and tear. Hockey is not played every day all year and many times there are 3-4 days between games. There are maybre a dozen times a year they play back to back. They never play 3 straight (and if they do, there was a weather related postponement at some point).
  24. Grazie. Was too lazy to check.
