You almost wonder if Mattingly was saying, kid, learn to get yourself out of thses messes instead of looking to somebody else to do it. It's a luxury he can afford with a last place club.

Agree on Porcello. If nothing else, he gives you innings (usually 6 and often 7). Johnson usually done after 4 or maybe 5.
Velazquez, nah. He's been doing a Houdini act all year (WHIP is nearly 1.5) and it caught up to him last time out. Plus he doesn't give you more than 3 innings right now.
