  1. Agreed, probably not a lot more, unless he had a monster year.
  2. Woo OBP Leaders .459 Kavadas (also the leader in HRs) .453 Meidroth (started out slowly) .444 Grissom (should be called up, soon) .412 Heineman (on IL) .385 Refsnyder (raking in MLB) .375 Romy G (on IL) AA .411 Lugo (HR leader, too.) .361 Binelas .360 Yorke .354 Mayer .352 Paulino .328 Teel .316 Anthony A+ .395 Castro A- .488 Montero .438 A Lugo .426 Jh. 3. You always run the risk of him having a big year and not extending or getting much more. It certainly was a gamble.
  4. I agree. I was just reporting on some comments made about Bernardino starting the year in AAA. (I was against that idea, back then.)
  5. The other factor is how well Abreu and Refsnyder are doing. Right now, Duran is the struggling OF'er, but we aren't benching him, soon, and probably never. Once that player, who has yet to play a game for the big club, finished rehab, our IF will be okay. Once Casas returns- better than okay. I'm really proud of the job our catchers have done.
  6. Good sign that this management team is quicker with the ax.
  7. Nice game, again. One more game, and we will have gone through the rotation 6 times. We've had, basically 3 bad starts out of 29, including openers. We should start getting our starters back, but it may take a while for them to get back in a groove. Big win. The Yanks are back in first. We are 3 back from first and 2 back from BAL in second. We are now 2 up on TOR & 3 on TBR. We are 6th best in the AL: 0.5 from DET 1.0 from KCR We are 11th in MLB. Run Diff +47 ATL +46 CLE +43 NYY +43 KCR +38 LAD +34 BAL +33 BOS
  8. I’m at the Stones concert and will catch the end of the game, later. Go Sox!!!!.
  9. Bobby Dee- feeling the loud Cooper footsteps from behind.
  10. He's doing okay with the staff, too. (As of now, McGuire is doing better, but both are doing well with our pitchers.) He needs to work on blocking bad pitches. Framing, too. His pop time and arm are pretty good.
  11. At the risk of "reporting" on Grissom, he went 4-4, today. Kavadas homered and walked twice. Rosier went 3-4 w a homer. POR got killed, but Wikelman did well: 5IP, 1H, 2ER, 1BB, 8K Anthony 0-5 (.664) Mayer 0-3 w 2 BB Teel 1-4 w BB Jordan, Paulino & Yorke had 2 hits
  12. I agree. Some might have felt 2023 was a fluke, but that season was better than anything Joely ever did. They must have saw some hope in Joely, just as someone did in Bernardino, last season. I get the feeling had Joely done well, and Weissert s*****, we might be saying the same thing about him and Bernardino, despite him being RH'd. These kinds of choices are made every spring- right or wrong.
  13. I was with you back on opening day. I also felt like Bernardino should have been on the 26. I do remember someone talking about options and keeping as many pitchers on the team as possible, but Joely was a huge bust.
  14. Can't argue with this, but you hit on some and miss on some. Jacques and Joely were big misses. Campbell might be, but he deserves some time in AAA to earn a shot again. Slaten looks golden. Weissert has been okay. Criswell has looked good, so far. Anderson looked okay, until his last game. Bernardino was a steal (2023)
  15. So, here is my guess on who gets demoted when these guys return to the 26: Grissom > DHam Pivetta> Uwasawa Whitlock> Booser Bello> Anderson (maybe Kelly) Romy G > Dalbec or Valdez (or Romy goes to AAA) Casas > Dalbec Hendriks (August) > ???
  16. 17. I'm really hopeful Grissom will end the merry-go-round we've had at 2B for too long.
  18. But, he had a great career, so no criticism is allowed.
  19. The 2024 Valdez bat certainly looks replaceable. I do think DHam is better on D and base-running. Close call, but neither is likely to be an overall plus.
  20. I think Valdez is a much better hitter than he has shown, so far, this year, and better than all of these guys on the list, but his defense is so bad, he'd have to be a good enough hitter to win the DH job. This is doubtful. I have no issues DFA'ing Dalbec, but I'd like to see who the back-up 1Bman is. (Ref makes sense.) Romy might be the best of the bunch, which isn't saying much. I do not think DHam plays good enough defense, even at 2B to be worth keeping. Reyes looked okay, last year: this year, not so much. They all look like they could be DFA'd, but replacement infielders are not likely any better.
  21. Yes, my bad. Maybe they will add a middle IF'er or someone who can back up 1B and 3B. (LOL)
