  1. This year, the Dodgers have lost 3 straight and 4 out of 5, twice, already. True, they have much better and longer winning stretches, but there are plenty of examples of bad stretches by good teams.
  2. Almost every winning team has times like this. There is a lot of season left to play.
  3. Bregman may be gone, and that opens a clear spot for Mayer at 3B, SS (move Story) or 2B (move Campbell.) Refsnyder may retire, so that allows Rafaela to platoon with Abreu (or Duran) and open up LF for Anthony- not that Ref is blocking Anthony, now: Rafaela & Duran are. DH might be open, if they convince Devers to play 1B, or 1B could be open to Campbell, which allows Mayer to play middle infield. A lot can happen, including a trade of Mayer or Anthony, or more likely, an established player like Story, Duran, Rafaela or Abreu.
  4. Anthony in LF, Duran/Rafaela platoon in CF with maybe Duran DH'ing some, if Devers plays 1B. Is playing CF really a position change for Duran? He's played 90 more games in CF than LF, over his career and looked pretty good there, last year. Rafaela is a way better defender in CF, but his bat has never looked as good as Duran's did from '23-'24. Duran at DH is an option, assuming Cora gets Devers to play 1B. To me, the opening at 1B created a situation where we can shuffle the deck a little and get a kid onto the 26 man roster as a FT or very near FT player. Just do it.
  5. What "norms" are you talking about. Many of our players are so young, they have yet to establish a norm, but certainly Abreu is doing better. Ceddanne has a better OPS and is K'ing way less. Hell, Narvaez is doing better or the same as his "norm" in. Duran got way better than his, but don't give Cora any credit. Houck had a career year in '24. Does that count< or just his awful 2025 season, so far? While it's true many players are doing worse than their career stats or recent years, but it's only mid May.
  6. Nothing matters until it's 80 games... LOL.
  7. He started off slowly, this year and dropped in SP's rankings, even as some above him were traded or graduated.
  8. Not quite 80 games. The Devers hot 2 weeks did not count, so why does KC's count?
  9. I'm not sure it's about egoes as much as thinking players do better in their comfort zones. When we go Story, I'd have moved Bogey to 2B (or 3B) and played Story at SS, but Cora did not do that. Was it Bogey's ego? What about Story's ego? I'm just not sure. I also don't think Devers is a "diva." Until this season, he seemed like a fun-loving guy who didn't let much bother him. He did not seem to be high maintenance. He played hurt and rarely complained about anything, even bad calls by umps. He reminded me of Manny in some respects, including the awful defense and calm approach to hitting and dealing with the umps. The demands on position changes brought out a side I never knew he had.
  10. I can see your point, and it scares the bejesus out of me to see I've been agreeing with you more and more. lately. LOL!
  11. I was a huge Tito fan, but I did feel it was time for him to move on. I'm not sure I'm there with Cora. Cora has had some real tough rosters to work with since 2019. I realize 2021 was light years away, but I did think this roster was better than it's showed, so far.
  12. I don't get the analogy. We have two prospects that are ML ready, and who were seemingly blocked. We had a major injury and a slot open up. Some juggling is needed, but it's not rocket science or something like asking Devers to play CF or Anthony 1B. Play the damn #1 prospect in MLB. He's been ML ready for weeks, if not months. It may not work, but neither is Toro/Sogard at 1B, Story at SS and our LF/CF offense.
  13. Cora seemed to not even want Devers to DH, instead of throwing the ball away at 3B, so it looks like he's caving to Devers, but it might be something else. There are times when things seem so obviously better for the team, but it takes an act of congress to get a change. The issue with Devers at 3B has been going on for years. I get the mistake on believing Yoshida could play LF complicated the DH move, and Casas looked like our 1B/DH of the future, so it was not an easy move to make, but still...
  14. He doesn't have to replace Duran. It could be Rafaela. It could be our 1Bman, if Cora can get Devers to play 1B. It could be a combination of a few players.
  15. Fair points, and I've been a big Cora supporter. Maybe some complacency has set in. It's hard to know.
  16. We'll see. He also said he "was the 3Bman," and we saw how that turned out. I do think Cora will try to not let it happen, this year.
  17. Well, if he replaced our 1Bman, by being the DH (or LF and Duran/Ref at DH)and having Devers play 1B, I think it likely would be an upgrade.
  18. We did what we could against Skubal, but the rest of the team let us down, again. We can't seem to get all aspects of this team going at the same time, for more than a 2-3 game stretch, and even those are rare. It's mid May, and this team is looking like another .500 club. I still think an Anthony and or Mayer call-up could give us the spark we need, right now. (A decent RP'er, if we had one, would likely help more.)
  19. Earlier in his career, Duran was forever tinkering. I guess he just can't resist. He better start hitting, or he's looking at joining Abreu on the platoon wagon, at best.
  20. I guess the Raffy to 1B thread was getting off topic, so we needed a new one.
  21. Don't look now, but Rafaela is nearing the .700 line. (The league OPS is .710.) Ceddanne is at .679, after being at .577 on May 3rd. .977 last 10 games. Maybe he feels Anthony's breath.
  22. WOW! Cespedes ended up 3-4. Is he finally becoming what we hoped for?
  23. WOO is up 8-4, late and the two wonder kids are at it again. Anthony 2-3 w 2 BB and Mayer 2-4. Hickey with another good day (2-4 w HR & BB.) GRE won 9-6. Valera went 3.2, 4H, 2ER, 0 BB, 2K. Ehrhard exploded by going 5-5 w a dinger. Taylor 2-3 w BB. Arias 1-5 w 2 rbi. Cespedes is 2-3 midway through Salem's game.
  24. It would be really nice, if this guy got it back together.
  25. Ref is back in the line-up vs the lefty... 1. Duran 2. Devers 3. Bregman 4. Refsnyder 5. Campball 6. Story 7. Sogard 8. Narvaez 9. Rafaela
