    Maybe he's one of those guys who does better in MLB than the farm. How about Wong taking up the Narvaez slack? Nice to see Yoshida get over .700, but some prefer Sogard to DH.

    The added Comp pick also adds bonus money, so even if we swing and miss with that pick, we might still use the bonus money to draft a kid "overslot." We've had great success with Comp Picks, though. I'm curious to see if we focus more on bats than arms, but I think they will take the best player, regardless. What else is weird about the MLB draft is the no trading picks part, although Comp Picks can be dealt.

Yes, it opens a new hole for Brez, and as many think, he's an idiot and can't acquire any good players, so why create another mistake ready to happen?     McDonough HR'd again. WOO beat Luis Perales. Brannon HR'd again and Rosario hit 2 in POR's win. Winnay had 3 hits. GRE won in a shootout. Gonzales hit his 12th, M White his 13th and GRod 6th/Heyman 9th. SAL won, too.

    Losing the FAs to be is one thing, but losing Chapman & Whitlock would add two big holes for winter moves to fill. We already will have 5-6: SS C 2B DH RP3 RP5 This assumes Crochet fills the Gray slot.

    I'd need to be wow'd to trade Contreras. I don't think Houck, Crawford or Casas will bring back enough to give up on their upside potential, but I'd listen. Trading Chapman and or Whitlock would mean we'd need some serios pen building, this winter, and I'm not just talking about making Houck and Crawford pen arms.

    We agree. I'm not for giving up the future for a long shot at something special, this year. I'm hoping 2027 can be special, and selling this deadline improves those odds.

    You are probably right, but I read pitchers usually throw between 50 and 130 inning in their first season back. This is his second, after he pitched 75 in the minors, last year. I know Verlander is not human, but he won a Cy Young at age 39, the year after surgery (1.5 years after and 175 IP.)

    We will almost certainly need Bello or Crochet to eat some innings, if we stay in this thing and keep Gray. Early and Tolle will be limited, and Bennett will not be overworked. Gray & Suarez will need to max out. I doubt Crawford or Oviedo even pitch. Houck is a long shot, even in a relief role for 2026. Uberstine is a pen arm, and Holobetz & Eyanson are in AA and not on the 40.

    This September, it will be 3 years since his surgery.. I agree, it would be pushing it, but he could come close. It's not unheard of after 1.5 years off and rehabbing.

    We could see some big name pitchers traded, soon. Detroit has Skubal & Casey Mize- bot FA-to-be. Sonny Gray? Clay Holmes? Will Alcantara finally be traded? (MIA may be buyers) Joe Ryan? (MIN could be buyers.) Gausman? (TOR is like 5-15 in their last 20.) There is also some talk about some pitchers under control through 2028 being on the block: Lugo & Wacha from the Royals? Detmers & Soriano from the Angels?
