    Betts career by position: .890 in the OF in 5426 PAs. (11th best) .780 at SS in 837 PAs (18th best) .956 at 2B (best in MLB by position) 446 PAs It's obvious the Sox destroyed Betts by moving him off 2B. Just totally destroyed his career! LOL!

    Either he or ICampbell makes sense. Moran could turn out to be a keeper, in the long run, but then again, I felt teh same when we traded for I Campbell.

    It's kind of a perfect set up for the team and something the union should work to eliminate. The timing of free agency means so much to a good player's earning potential.

    Our Sp'ers have been doing worse than before, as well, except Buehler, who has consistently sucked. BTW, Whitlock has not allowed an inherited runner to score since June 8th, and just 2 out of 12, all year. He allowed a run, his last time pitching, after going 16 scoreless games of 13.2 IP, just 9 hits, 2BB and 17 Ks. You know who pitches like this? Chapman. I guess a pitcher is only as good as his last game. Crochet has a 4.91 ERA in his last 2 starts. Gio is at 4.09 in his last 2 (5.12 FIP.) Bello: 5.25 in last 2. It's not just the pen, Max. We've lost 6 of the last 9, but have gone 13-9 in the last 22 and 25-14 in the last 39, which is nearly a quarter season!

    Being "human nature" hardly makes more criticism "fair," but yes, that is subjective. I get the heat of the moment outbursts that are hyperbolic or based on emotions more than logic or true beliefs, but to me, it often gets overwhelmingly critical and negative. At times abusive and absurd. It's just not for me, or I can only take it in small doses. I've seen enough negativity for the decades of futility from the early 70's to 2003. I was probably as negative and pessimistic as anyone and everyone else, so I guess I should be more understanding and accepting. It's nothing personal, I just see enough crap going on in the world, right now, that I kinda want the Sox to be a beacon of hope in my life. I like this team. I think they are fun to watch- flaws and all. I also see the AL as not having any great team, so I'm optimistic that maybe we don't need to be as good as one usually thinks a team needs to be to go to the big dance. This could be the year. The 2013 team was not nearly as good as the 2018, but some crazy sh** can happen. BOSTON STRONG!

    The Sox have 9 batters over .721 (above MLB average) Many are slumping, so here is about the worst cherry-picked sample size I could find for each: .926 Bregman- on the inline, but .840 in last 173. .845 Romy- .612 in last 43 PAs .835 Anthony- been on a constant rise from his first game (N/A) .827 Refsnyder (IL) .691 in last 70 and .678 in last 25 .811 Abreu- .696 in last 85 & .761 in last 341 .792 Duran- been on an upward trajectory, but leveled out .779 in 64. .729 Story- hard to complain: he was at .585 to end May (.853 since, so N/A) .721 Narvaez- one of the more impactful declines: .625 in 201 & .304 in 41! .721 Rafaela- has been a rollercoaster most of his career- .487 in 94 is maybe the worst of the bunch, in terms of being lower and relatively longer. One could also cherry-pick that he's at .800 over his last 252 PAs.

    ...and his second, too... .578 in 107 PAs in 2021 (awful on D) .645 in 223 PAs in 2022 (still awful on D) That's .622 in his first career 335 PAs (more than double what Mayer has had.) BA .219 OBP .269 Maybe Cora "ruined him" by moving him off 2B...LOL

    It was just 136 PAs, but yes, he does need to prove he can hit and stay healthy to win any FT role, and we should not assume he fills a FT role to start 2026.
