  1. I like it. I'd also like to see us get a big bat 1Bman, as long as we don't have to part with Devers, Mata or Groome.
  2. They said from the start that Devers will play vs RHPs. I don't think acquiring Nunez changes that.
  3. BM went on the DL. Dodgers are looking for a starter.
  4. Sandy could have gotten the guy at 3rd, if he had his head out of his ass.
  5. Doug Freakin' Fister!
  6. He could also play SS for the slumping Bogey and LF or DH vs LHPs.
  7. How about... Trade Price for some top prospects Flip all the prospects plus Travis, Vaz, Callahan, Dalbec, Ysla, Beeks & Lakins for Verlander, J Wilson & Avila
  8. Let's just DFA both of them and find a RP'er or big bat to add.
  9. 24 HRs in 337 ABs in the minors this year. .969 OPS. When will he be called to AAA?
  10. Not counting tonight's "hit fest" game... Last 14 days OPS: .258 Lin ("the hot hand") .310 Moreland .310 Marrero .345 Vazquez .451 Beni .458 Bogey .465 JBJ .491 Holt .554 Leon .607 Young Last 28 Days: .316 Vaz .375 Moreland .472 Bogey .491 Holt .510 Leon .557 Young .627 Travis .705 Beni .710 Marrero
  11. Hard to argue either player's case.
  12. He's a better option than Bogey, Beni or Young, so who knows?
  13. So is Selsky. If an OF'er got hurt, we'd activate Brentz over Selsky.
  14. Come on Young! Shut up your critics!
  15. Devers: the on base machine!
  16. Nunez is a rental. Rutledge has a better chance making the Sox next year than Selsky. We may also trade Holt. Marrero or Lin this winter.
  17. His .331 OBP is 15 points over his career .316 OBP. I don't see him leading off, even with his speed. His splits are pretty even over his career: .728 vs RHPs (.328 OBP) .706 vs LHPs (.294 OBP) He's a first half hitter: .756 1st .680 2nd His .790 away OPS is encouraging this year. He has a SB% of about 75% over his career. I see him more as insurance at 3B, DH, LF and maybe even SS/2B.
  18. My guess is Marrero goes to AAA. Who gets the boot off the 40 man roster? Selsky? Fister? Boyer? Velazquez? Rutledge? Ysla? Elias? With Brentz doing well, my guess is Selsky, but it could be Elias or Ysla. Maybe we quickly trade 2 guys from the 40 man for a RP'er.
  19. Anderson was ranked 17th on soxprospects.com with a score of 2-5. Career Notes: Worked out of the bullpen in college as part of incredibly deep Florida staff, serving as the closer his junior season, before transitioning to a starter as a professional. Would likely have started for most other collegiate programs. Participated in 2016 Fall Instructional League. Summation: Tall right-hander has a four-pitch mix, solid pitcher’s frame and clean mechanics. Could move quickly in a bullpen role, but will be stretched out and developed as a starter. Lacks a true plus offering, but could have several average-to-better offerings. Strong command profile and pitchability. Ceiling of a back-end starter who relies on mixing pitches and being around the zone because of lack of true out pitch. Santos was not ranked in the top 60 prospects.
  20. -12.9 UZR/150 at 3B career. -8 DRS. Just over 1800 innings at 3B. He's worse at 2B (-30.2 UZR/150 in 145 innings. He's played a little corner OF (322 innings +18.2 UZR/150). Has played the most at SS (2058 innings -17.8 UZR1/50) I think Pedro is wrong on EN.
  21. Probably Marrero goes down. Who goes off the 40 man?
  22. You mean Rubby is not an ace?
  23. Wrong vibe.
