What I saw was HRam turning to look over his shoulder like a T Ball player. He barely made it safe!
Lack of fundamentals is another reason to can jf's ass.
He's actually doing better, of late (8 ERs in his last 4 starts), and he's under team control for less years than Price.
Price: $127M/5 (after this year)
Verlander: $56M/2
Of course, we could maybe trade Price and add someone else (Cueto, Gray...?)
While I agree with all of this, I'm not bothered by any of this crap. I doubt any Sox players are still thinking about it.
This may be a sign of weak management, but to me, the lack of fire & desire is a bigger sign of managerial weakness.
JF sucks. Why keep him at the helm?
Sometimes just a big change at the helm is enough to provide a spark.
This team has zero fire.
Zero desire.
Zero focus.
Total haplessness.
Yup. Platooning him stunts his development.
1) We need to put the best players on the field each game. If Devers has to sit here and there to make room for a better player vs a LHP, then that's what should be done.
2) Even playing vs just RH'd starters and PH opportunities in MLB will likely give Devers more playing time and "development" than had he stayed in AAA.
3) We have faced lefty starters in about 1 in 5 games. That's not going to stunt Devers' growth. We might also see Nunez play LF vs LHPs as Beni sucks with those splits. He could also DH as HRam plays 1B. He could also play SS: maybe Bogey needs a 10 day DL stint.
Devers should get plenty of playing time, despite the acquisition of Nunez.
Luis Ysla to be DFA'd to make room for Nunez.
Rutledge will finish his rehab soon and must be on the 25 man roster or be DFA'd or DL'd.
Not sure what the plan will be for him. (Make room for a RP'er or 1Bman basher?)
(Ben Taylor to DL as Boyer comes off it.)
I was the last to agree that Bobby V must go, so I'm not one to jump on the manager. This isn't a knee jerk reaction on my part. I've not liked JF's style and substance almost from the start.
Despite the team slump, we are still 12th in runs scored and...
2 runs from 11th
3 runs from the top 10 tier
6 runs from 9th
Not bad for a team ranked 29th in ISO at .141!
(We're 7th in OBP at .332.)
Rutledge's rehab stint is nearly over. He will need to be traded or DFA'd, With Devers in MLB, there should be room for Chavis there, but I'm fine with the choices being made on promotions.
No fire.
No desire.
Lacking fundamentals:
Leon walks back to the back stop, and he doesn't realize last night's winning run is going from 1st to 3rd on the WP.
HRam turns to look to LF as he rounds third to score the go-ahead run- just barely.
The beat goes on under JF's non watchful eyes.
