  1. Although the trade simulator refused this trade that was valued at 18.5 vs 20.5 (In LAD favor), I think I'd do this from the Sox POV: Betts (50.0) & Eovaldi (-29.5) for Downs 21.9 (minors 2B) Maeda 12.2 Barnes 10.0 Peters 8.3 (minors OF) Vargas 5.4 (minors 1B) Pollock -39.3
  2. This might be something both sides might agree to: Betts & Eovaldi (and Velezquez-LOL) for Pollock, Maeda, Barnes and Downs
  3. I could see something like this, even though the trade simulator says it's an overpay by the Sox: Betts, Eovaldi & Chavis for Pollock, Maeda, Barnes, Urias & Vargas/Santana (1B) If they say no, maybe... Betts, Eovaldi & Chavis for Pollock, Maeda, Barnes, Downs, Busch & Vargas (1B) or Santana (1B)
  4. Betts is not a salary dump. You'd laugh at us, if we suggested a trade like this. Betts is worth 50 on the TS, while Pederson is like 13. Plus, if we want to just dump Betts, why not get a good prospect(s) that costs zero and has 5+ years of team control?
  5. Too much money for LA to take on.
  6. Then, let's throw in Velazquez... LOL!
  7. The Dodgers have a lot of options. They are loaded at catcher- both ML and on the farm. We need a back-up catcher. I'm not locked in on Urias. The trade simulator has these values- mix and match to meet Urias's 29.1 value: 21.9 Downs 2B 19.9 Gonsolin SP 18.9 Stripling SP 18.3 Gray RHP 7.9 Kolarek LHP 7.6 Busch 2B 5.4 Rodriguez OF 5.4 Vargas 1B 4.7 Santana 1B Catcher 44.7 Ruiz 41.4 Smith 10.3 Cartaya 10.0 Barnes 4.5 Wong
  8. Here's a less financially expensive one for the Dodgers: Betts, Eovaldi & Chavis for Pollock, Maeda, Barnes, Urias, Downs & Rios
  9. Your "actively injured" for "throwing arm surgery" comment was funnier.
  10. soxprospects says two, but we can easily create a handful more. Travis Weber Brewer Lakins Poyner Or, we could cut Osich again.
  11. It's only $45M for one year, then it's about $15M for 2 more years. Betts for $30M and Price for $15M is not really an overpay. This one I posted was a "featured deal" and had 15 likes to 11 dislikes: Betts, Price & $3M for Pollock, Urias & Maeda I later propsed this: Betts, Price, Duran & $9M for Pollock, Kelly, Urias, Madea & Downs
  12. Minor surgery for a cyst removed from his writs. You sure know how to make everything seem so dire for Sox players.
  13. We have plenty of those.
  14. Also, if LAD gets Betts, they don't need or have a place for Pollock. (We could take back Kelly, if more money is needed in return. We have plenty of roster slots open.)
  15. To me, sending Price with Betts and taking back Pollock's contract is a solid foundation for a trade with LA. The spare parts are the hard part to project. The Sox would have to get something of value back (Urias, Maeda, ___?)
  16. Some history on Bloom https://www.bostonglobe.com/sports/redsox/2019/11/07/expect-red-sox-more-active-traders-under-chaim-bloom/bVxexmSzVAZwXNPpIv03TK/story.html https://www.nbcsports.com/boston/red-sox/three-teams-7-players-1-home-run-what-complicated-trade-tells-us-about-red-soxs-chaim-bloom
  17. Winter Ball http://news.soxprospects.com/2019/12/fallwinter-league-roundup-travis.html
  18. Can't we just claim him?
  19. Maybe "rebuild" is a poor choice of words. My thought is, Bloom should be making moves that look beyond 2020.
  20. I thought you liked Beni in CF.
  21. I know you dislike multi-player deals, but how's this one? Betts, Price (+$9M) & Duran (takes the place of Betts in 2021) for Pollock & Kelly (partial money balancers), Maeda, Urias & Downs (This was accepted on the TS site.)
  22. Those caves were naturally AC'd.
  23. Both will need money attached or a salary dump in return as part of the deal.
  24. True, but I'd see him as a bridge signing more than a rebuild one.
  25. I'd rather add a little money than take Joc, however, Maeda is owed more total money than Pedersson.
