  1. Makes no sense- Henry approval or no approval. Now, if we are 5 games up in July, maybe spending could become an option, but that's a super duper long shot.
  2. Putting it off for 18 months is what is asinine. Now, they may wait 20+ months.
  3. If we end up going over, Bloom should be fired.
  4. Red Sox Sign Collin McHugh https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2020/03/red-sox-sign-collin-mchugh.html?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=facebook

  6. He's actually not as bad as many think he is, and if he's used just vs LHPs, he's pretty good. Plus, I'm thinking he might be a Bloom gem that goes on to have a career year after we get him. (This doesn't mean I want him and his contract, but if we get something else with him, he can disappoint me, and we'll still be okay.)
  7. He's a Yankee fan and has that perspective. I don't view him as a "T".
  8. He probably should have had the surgery at least a year ago.
  9. Sounds right, but it seems like you only mention the gloomy possibilities when it comes to Sox injuries and rosy for Yankee players. Sometimes, it's about pain thresholds, too. Most pitchers feel some pain after every start, but they don't really have a serious issue. (I'm not saying Sale does not have a serious issue or that he is a woos, but pain is a tricky thing to gauge, at times.
  10. Does it ever look inflamed on MR but when you get in there, it looks okay or better than expected? (I'm not mocking you. I'm being serious.)
  11. Who would that be? JD? JBJ? Eovaldi? (assuming he shows he's back) Barnes? Workman? Moreland?
  12. I've suggested trading Chavis dozens of times, and I still would, if it was for another young player or prospect- preferably a pitcher. The problem is, what team will trade a good young pitcher for the next Middy?
  13. Better to not trade youth for a lost season anyways. No deal should be made, unless it improves our chances in 2021 and beyond.
  14. If the season begins to look lost, we could trade Workman, assuming he's still doing well, for a young pitcher. I doubt anyone gives a good young pitcher for Chavis or Dalbec, but who knows how much some GM values one of them. We could try trading Chavis and Houck for a better pitcher, but what team is looking to trade good young pitchers? (Hint: none.)
  15. Did Andrews recommend surgery?
  16. His "similar" offense over the last 2 years was boosted by hitting more HRs (80 to 61) although the double totals were close to flipped. I think Betts's power numbers are hurt by playing in Fenway, although his career SLG% is better at home. On defense, Yelich is a minus while Betts is the best. Does that equate to 25% or more in money? I'd say it's close, but remember, Yelich did not test Free agency to sign this deal. I'd rather have Yelich at $215/9 than Betts at $350/10 or $400/12.)
  17. Half would be nice, but maybe they'd take JBJ in lieu of all cash. We could add Workman to sweeten the return. We could give Chavis or Dalbec.
  18. A century? I realize this was probably hyperbole, and 80-90 years would be closer to accurate, as the teams of the early 20's to 30's really sucked. We never won more than 67 games from 1922-1933. We were pretty bad right before the WS trip in 1946. We were pretty bad for 6 or 7 years before the 1967 miracle season. We were 54-61 in the shortened 1994 season. We won 69 games in 2012 but very few expected less than 79 or 89 wins that season in March.
  19. Close to 0% chance we trade those prospects. I still think the Myers trade might be our best shot at getting a good young pitcher without losing any youth.
  20. I'm not sure "survived" is the word I'd choose, but we'd have been decent with Sale healthy. This is not looking good, but nothing has been confirmed, yet.
  21. I'm not sure I've ever been called that before.
  22. We may get #17, this year, if the league doesn't take it away. That's not high, but it's better than we've had since 2016 (Groome at #12). We might get a top 14 pick next year.
  23. I voted 76-80, but I'm thinking more like 78-82. That wasn't a choice.
