  1. Ottavino reminds me of Kimbrel’s last year, here.
  2. O’s up 8-5, now.
  3. Chavis is making a case to stay.
  4. Montgomery is literally el fuego!
  5. Bottom 3 guys are 5 for 6
  6. O’s up on Yanks!
  7. That and the baby face.
  8. Just like that! One swat by the man child,
  9. Why is he leading off. LOL We’ve all been there, Jason.
  10. With Verdugo out, there were no good options:
  11. Time for top of the order damage!
  12. Who was it that wanted Eovaldi moved to closer? Maybe when Whitlock is stretched out, Nate can be moved to a set up role.
  13. Maybe a 16-13 final score
  14. Yanks up by 4, quickly.[/i]
  15. Yes- no Cordero helps, instantly.
  16. nice start by Eovaldi. Let’s get some runs out of the gait,
  17. That makes sense. Our strategy of acquiring good pitchers by trade and free agency has not always worked out well, but each of our 4 rings involved a major acquisition or two or more to our pitching staff.
  18. 1 Chavis 2B 2 Denver’s 3B 3 JD LF 4 Bogey DH 5 Renfroe CF 6 Dalbec 1B 7 Gonzalez RF 8 Plawecki C 9 Aránzazu SS Vaz and Verdugo off with Bogey DHing again. Dalbec and Renfroe moved up.
  19. Some people don’t even think Ottavino is solid. Whitlock is being stretched to a starter. Barnes is on pace for 77 IP, which is about 7 more than his career high. We need another solid set up man and maybe two. Maybe a couple guys we already have can improve enough to fill those roles, and I know I’ve been calling them all “sucky” of late. Some will likely be okay, but as 4-9 men not top 4 pen arms. Bazardo, Brasier, Houck and maybe a starter who is sent to the pen when Sale returns or Whitlock is promoted to the rotation, but I’d say we have a high need area in our pen.
  20. ERA is a ver bad stat for RP’ers. Plus, my point is not about who is the worst of the sucky six. It’s about them all being pretty much interchangeable and not even coming close to being overworked. Only Barnes is on pace for being overworked by about 8 innings.
