How many times are 3 PTBNL involved in 1 trade?
This is strange.
I know the BTV site is not all that accurate, but the Mets get Lee (9.3) and lose Winckowski (0.3).
Can we assume the PTBNL from the Mets will be a very good one?
He's on my interest list, but it depends on the money.
I'd rather have Odorizzi or Rosenthal.
I doubt we sign JBJ.
Maybe we sign Sawamuro and Pillar and save some for deadline moves.
Three-team deal is finished. Per source, the entire trade is: Mets get Lee, Royals get Benintendi and cash (from Boston), while Red Sox get Cordero, Winckowski, 2 PTBNL from Kansas City and 1 PTBNL from the Mets.

9:52pm: The deal has been formally announced. The Sox will pick up $2.8MM of the tab on Benintendi’s 2021 salary, MLB.com’s Mark Feinsand reports on Twitter.
9:47pm: The Sox will receive three players to be named later in the deal, Alex Speier of the Boston Globe tweets. That includes one player from the Mets and a pair from the Royals.
Renfroe's .717 v RHPs is not all that awful. Who knows: it might end up being better than Beni v RHPs in 2021.
Maybe Cordero's small sample size defensive metrics are misleading.
The K rate is hard to ignore.
Let's see who else we get, and if we are giving any cash.
If we save some cash on the budget, maybe the money will be used to sign Odorizzi. (We are $8M under the line plus $5M fofr Beni = $13M Odorizzi is expected to make per year.)
With a weak roster like ours, a 1 for 5 deal does make some sense, especially if Bloom is working his mo-jo magic on these under-the-radar players.
Fingers crossed as I await the finalities.
Bye-bye Beni.
Cordero has a negative UZR150 in CF.
I hope we get more.
BTV had Lee rated much higher than Cordero.
One plus from the deal would be to free up money for a signing, but it sounds like money is part of the deal. If we are paying part of Beni's deal, I'm confused.

The Red Sox “appear on the cusp of” a deal with Sawamura, writes Alex Speier of the Boston Globe. Sankei Sports reports it will be a two-year, $2.4MM deal with additional incentives available, according to Speier.
