  1. We are one game behind the CWS & OAK (not in winning % but in GB) for the third best record in the AL. 1 behind the WC1 slot. 4 behind the Rays for the AL lead. We are still 2.5 games up on the Yanks (1 in the loss column.)
  2. Bunching most of your hits is not always a bad thing. If you bunch them in 20-8 and 16-2 wins, then it's not really a good thing, but if you bunch them when other hitters are slumping, and it helps you pull out a few wins, then it's not a bad thing.
  3. I agree. My thoughts, right now, is that Houck and Whitlock are both fantastic, and we will add a very solid SPer this winter by free agency. That would force a choice between the two: one starts and one closes or becomes the top set up man or long man. ThinkingWhitlock should start over Houck is not a slight on Houck. It’s a great compliment to Whitlock.
  4. Tyler Gilbert with a no-no, tonight against SDP.
  5. The White Sox left bases loaded with 1 out in the bottom of the 12th to lose to the Yanks by 2.
  6. My point was about how extreme the amount of prospects were traded away by DD in a very short time- not whether they worked or not. Extreme does not mean bad. There is no doubt, he made an extremely high amount of prospects for vets deals. Almost all of them look good to great, in hindsight. I actually liked most of the deals he made, at the time, especially the Sale one. There was only one or two I disliked, and both worked out well. (Pom & Kimbrell)
  7. Saying Houck could be our closer next year is no slight.
  8. If we are any where near the division or WC lead with a week or so to go, I like our odds. Last few games: BOS: NYY 3 @BAL 3 @WSH 3 TBR: @HOU 3 @NYY 3 NYY: @BOS 3 @TOR 3 TBR 3 OAK: SEA 4 HOU 3 @SEA 3 @HOU 3
  9. Rays lose 12-0. Could they be showing signs of cracking? While only being 2 and 2 in their last 4 games, they did lose the two by 12 runs each. Yanks just got tied by an Abreu HR with 2 outs in the 9th. A's win 8-3. HOU up 3-2 in the 5th. TOR down 2-1 to SEA in the 2nd.
  10. MIN 9 TBR 0 (6th inning) OAK 5 TEX 3 (7th) NYY 3 CWS 3 (7th) LAA 2 HOU 0 (2nd) TOR 0 SEA 0 (1st)
  11. Munoz got an infield hit to extend the streak to 34- tying Dom D. Meneses hits a granny in the 5-4 loss. Bello goes 6 IP with 9Ks and 0BB, 7 hits and 1 ER.
  12. ...and maybe they were slightly better at Houck's age. LOL.
  13. We can't take the foot off the pedal. No mercy!
  14. He's throwing 99 mph? LOL.
  15. Twins up on the Rays 7-0 after 3. Yanks-White Sox tied 3-3 in the 5th.
  16. Updated Sox OPS .929 Devers .908 Schwarber (WSH-BOS) .897 JD M .895 Bogey .799 Kike .798 Renfroe .792 Arroyo .776 Verdugo .775 Plawecki .726 Dalbec .634 Vaz .599 Duran .567 Marwin .554 Santana .497 Cordero We could have a line-up with all batters over .775.
  17. Maybe next year he sets up Houck or a FA closer we sign.
  18. LOL. Before today, however, Bobby Dee's OPS vs BAL was .723, which was actually lower than his 2021 OPS of .726. 1.881 KCR 1.014 TOR .944 CWS .922 LAA .900 OAK .889 MN .833 NYM .751 TBR Mostly the better teams we play all year. Worst: .083 TEX .111 DET .294 HOU .311 SEA .411 PHI .448 NYY .462 ATL .500 MIA .735 teams >.500 .682 teams .495 vs NL
  19. Bobby Dee up to .726, now. The fact that he can go from .655 to .726 in just 3 games shows how small his sample size is. His career numbers are now: .775 OPS (.300 OBP/.475 SLG) .239 22 68 (21 2B+3B) in 420 PAs Projected to 650 PAs: .239 34 107 Posters wanted him demoted, myself included, recently. Posters even wanted him DFA'd. Rinse & repeat.
  20. You had me, until the Barnes bashing. BTW, I like the new avatar.
  21. I get that. Really, I do, but don't say DD didn't make an extreme amount of prospects trades, many of them highly touted, at the time, some not as high as the rankings I posted indicated. It was extreme, but it was worth it. We won a ring, and not many of the guys he traded have done anything close to lighting the world on fire. It's okay to love what DD did, but not sugar coat what it ended up leading to.
  22. Let's see if Martin Perez can begin to start a discussion about the possibility of us even talking about him possibly taking a more important role in the bottom of the pen.
  23. Even many of our outs were scorchers.
  24. This is fun. Who cares, if it's a AAA team? The O's are part of every AL team's success.
  25. Bobby Dee We are family!
