If Sale was starting, would Houck be in the initial starting 5? IMO, he was slated for the pen, until Sale got hurt.

Yes, Houck and Whitlock are the starter depth. Maybe Winckowski, Crawford or Seabold can surprise, but as of now, the two guys from the pen are it. Cora has worked wonders with suspect pens, so maybe he can keep that mojo going.

I looked at the last 40 years, the exact amount of seasons I've been a Sox fan. There are over 800 players with 3500+ PAs, like JBJ, and 169 players have a worse OPS than JBJ's .705. Sure, OPS is not everything, but many of those players were under .650 and even .600
