  1. Which is very likely a zero chance of happening this time.
  2. Of course, the owners will try, but if the players refuse, there wont be one. I'm not sure why you feel they have to be linked. It seems obvious, the lower-spending teams are not using revenue sharing on player salaries.
  3. You can have a floor and a lux tax at the top. There is no need to have a firm cap with a firm floor.
  4. He might do very well in Japan.
  5. 1/3 is not a majority. One big compromise to shortening team control of players would be to set a minimum floor on team player budgets. Make it big enough, and maybe the players will lower their demands on the team control issue. Maybe.
  6. Again, this is not convincing me. The teams that are at the bottom never are ready to contend. Only the Astros have ever been near the "floor" as they "saved up" to spend big, later. If the team is contending, they'll make more money and can spend extra.
  7. I disagree. They could easily meet a yearly budget and make money. There is no 5 year on the top spenders.

  9. It doesn't have to be forever- just as long as the owner holds the ownership: 1-20/30 years? I'd say YES! These businesses are money-makers! All of 'em!
  10. Even if the lose a few dollars every now and then, when they sell their teams, they make hundreds of millions of dollars.
  11. Prospects & minor leaguers who may get the call in 2022: SP Seabold, Winckowksi, Crawford (Hart, Keller, Espinal, Bello, Groome) RP Valdez, Bazardo, Feltman, Ort, German, Schreiber, Z Kelly C Wong, R Hernandez (Cottam) 1B Casas (T Reed) 2B/SS Arauz, Downs (Hamilton, Koss) 3B Munoz, Fitzgerald (SS) (Howlett) OF Duran, Locastro, Cordero, Refsnyder, C Stewart, P Castellanos (Dearden, J Rosario, Grandberg, Cannon) Top Prospects with ETA in 2023 or beyond... 12. Maybe he thinks these prospects are better than their rankings indicate. He does have a good track record acquiring young players that end uo doing very well.
  13. As Frank Zappa would sing... "I figure the odds be 50-50." (JBJ vs the two prospects chances combined)
  14. I doubt anyone places a value even close to what JBJ is making, so I think Bloom is thinking JBJ will give us some value and these two prospects make up the difference. Losing Renfroe's contract and future arb cost apparently swings the balance to our side... or not.
  15. I think it was rather expensive, but I guess it's all about just how good these prospects are.
  16. Depends on how the 2 prospects we got do and their "value."
  17. He might get $2-3M to play in Japan.
  18. Wow, and you call me a Vaz hater.
  19. Maybe $6M/1 with an option for $7M for year 2, with a $1M buy out. $7M/1 or $13M/2- team choice.
  20. $13/2 hits your mark.
  21. I doubt any GM pays Cutch $10M/1. He might earn $13M/2, but what do I know?
  22. Your man, Inciarte, signed with the Yankees. The New York Yankees, that is... (minor league deal.)
  23. Yankees sign Inciarte to a minor league deal. He could be a big help. I know he's been crap for a couple years, but he might still have a good season in him.
  24. I seriously doubt they are looking to do anything like this, but I have suggested several trades on BTV involving JBJ and a high salary player coming to us. I doubt my trades (or similar one) will ever even be thought of by Bloom. Here are some approved deals (I'm not sure I would do any of them): JBJ & Groome for Alzolay, K Hendricks & J Heywood JBJ, Dalbec & Downs for Campusano & Myers JBJ, Downs, Bello & Groome for Mahle & Moustakas
  25. The defensive OF of Verdugo in LF, Kike or JBJ in CF and JBJ in RF or CF is light years better than this year's OF defense. Now, the infield...
