  1. Erod had some nice numbers, last year. I think some were his best ever. He was burned by a crappy D and a horrid BAbip.
  2. I wasn't sad to see ERod go, but replacing him with Hill & Wacha did not make me feel warm and fuzzy.
  3. It's going to be Barnes and Nobles in crunch time, guys!
  4. You mean no other team is led by Spencer Torkelson?
  5. Soxprospects.com has the ETAs on our prospects: 2022-2023: 1. Casas 4. Duran 5. Bello 6. Groome 7. Mata 9. Walter 12. Winckowski 13. Downs 14. Seabold 15. Murphy 16. Crawford 24. Fitzy 27. Wong 28. R Hernnadez 2024-2025 2. Mayer 4. Yorke 10. Jordan 11. Gonzalez 17. McDonough 18. Jimenez 19. Rafaela 20. TWard 21. Binelas 22. Koss 23. Paulino 26. Hamilton 29. Lugo 30. Hickey 2026> 8. Bleis 25. Bonaci
  6. Houston is right up there, after recent events.
  7. I did, too, because I remember he got JD Drew money (before inflation).
  8. My "cherry-picked" stats were for his whole career, too (2015-2022).
  9. Good to see Bobby Dee with 2 hits and a hard out.
  10. Did JBJ more than double raise his OPS, today?
  11. They had been the best part of our team until 3 minutes ago.
  12. I'd rather have ERod than Paxton + Hill (about the same money on lux tax)
  13. Did not have to. It was an arb, and I'm sure we could have traded him for a non 40 man roster prospect, alone.
  14. 101 pitches in his second start.
  15. Hard to argue, except for maybe Manny & Trout. Best 10 years stretches: 1.055 Pujols ('01-'10 first 10 seasons) 1.032 Manny ('99-'08) 1.011 Trout ('12-'21) .983 ARod ('98-07) and .976 over 13 seasons .980 Miggy ('06-'15) .962 Papi ('03-'12) and .956 over the last 14 years of his career Manny also put up a 1.010 OPS over 15 seasons ('95-'09)
  16. I think he was under-rated by many Sox fans and posters. Since he was called up in 2015, he's ... 38th in starter fWAR at 14.4 38th in IP, despite missing 2020 50th in FIP
  17. Good to see a bust out. We needed this!
  18. He might try fielding himself, first.
  19. And, at his age, some don't think he's elite enough to get a large on long deal. Devers Forevers!
  20. Suzuki is making $7M, this year. JBJ is making $9.5. I wasn't talking long term, that's why I said per year, meaning this season. It's close if looking at lux tax: JBJ is making $12M this year with an $8M buyout for '23. We will likely keep him for 2023 at $12M, so I guess I should not count the $8M as spent for 2022. I should have been more specific.
  21. Top minor league pitchers w 4+ IP, so far... 0.00 Padron-Artiles (6 IP/ .261 OPS Against) 0.00 Walter (5.0/ .192) 0.00 Bello (5.0/ .461) 0.00 Stock (4.0/ .354) 1.69 Schreiber (5.1/ .673 1.80 Winckowski (5.0/ .544) 1.80 Santos (5.0/ .556) 2.25 Murphy (4.0/ .690) 2.25 Van Belle (4.0/ .694) 3.18 D Hern (5.2/ .277) 3.72 Pannone (9.2/ .707) Between Pannone, Padron-Artiles, Bello & Walter, these 4 guys have only 1 BB in 25.2 IP and a whopping 36 Ks!
  22. They could have traded Renfroe for peanuts and just signed Suzuki for less than JBJ is making per year.
