  1. Nice hit, but to the wrong place. Tough loss.
  2. It could be pretty close. Renfroe sucked in April and Schwarber was here for 2 months. 6 months of Story vs 7 good months from Renfroe & Schwarber. We could hope for better from Verdugo or a bust out year from Devers or Bogey, but that would likely be offset by a dip from someone else. I don't think offense will be our biggest weakness. I also think our starting pitchers will lose more games than our pen, and will have less to do with our wins than our pen, but that is by no means a lock. It's just my opinion. Overall, pitching as a whole is our weakest link.
  3. Bad omen not having the game thread for 4/11.
  4. A color most fitting for Rusney.
  5. And games played by 2 over Judge.
  6. He'll be one of the team's games played leaders, barring injury.
  7. Tell that to the Rusney ranters.
  8. YES! CF, too, and well, so I've heard.
  9. Based on 3 games or what we expect?
  10. Crazy that Fizty has started even better! (Except for the SBs)
  11. Kinda makes up for the "cheap HRs." Call it even.
  12. He did, but he's maybe a bigger gamble than a known ML player. I had hoped we signed him. He ended up not making a whole lot of money.
  13. Bloom has found many a gem from under-the-radar prospects and fringe players. Let's hope Hamilton and or Binelas continue his legacy.
  14. The free agent situation after 2022 will certainly deserve its own label.
  15. On crack, maybe.
  16. The extension begins, this year, so really, nobody was right or wrong, just yet, but certainly things look worse, now, than when we extended him.
  17. No, it wasn't but it wasn't meant to be in the highly completive category, either.
  18. Yes, and Binelas, who is also on the hot list.
  19. To be competitive but not highly competitive, yes. That's actually 3 years. 2020, 2021, 2022 2020 was never meant to be even competitive, once Sale & ERod were out.
  20. I agree, and I'm thrilled to see younger players making an impact or possibly about to.
  21. They had a good enough roster to "compete" in 2021, but I don't think they expected us to win 92 games and go as far as we did. (I'm not a believer in the playoffs are a crapshoot idea.) I think their number one priority was to plan for 2023-2024, keep the reset in place and see what happens. They gave Cordero and Dalbec (and others) longer looks than most "contending" and spending teams would have done. Now that spending is back on the table, I think they feel better about 2022, but the main priority is still 2023 and beyond. I don't expect us to trade good prospects, this deadline, even if we look like a very strong contender. We may pick up a Schwarber type player or maybe better pen help tan Robles/Davis of '21, but I still don't feel like we have gone "all in," yet. BTW, I have explained my breaking down of competitiveness vs high competitiveness philosophy.
  22. These guys have a longer plan. I don't think they expected 2021 to be so good. I'm thinking they both need to get to 2023 and 2024 to get a real feel for how good they are. This next winter will be very telling, as we lose some top talent and top salaries, too.
  23. Kinda says it all.
