  1. I disagree, fully. Bregman's 128 OPS+ in just 114 games this year was only the second time he's been over a 122 OPS+ since 2020. 3 times in the last 6 years his OPS+ was 116 or 117. He was showing decline on offense until his half season of hitting well for BOS. .941 in 81 games from 4/3 to 8/26 (.490 in first 6 games and .571 in last 26 games.) Of course, I'd rather have Bregman than not, but we'll be lucky to get near that production for 2-3 more years, let alone 4-5 or even 6.
  2. Schwarber's better than those two. If they get more years, they get less AAV. Alonso $29M x 5, $27M x 6 or $25M x 7 Bregman $30M x 5 or $27.5M x 6 Maybe...
  3. Not even close to happening. If we only get one bat, especially if Suarez not Alonso, then we should not trade Duran but look to trade Rafaela and or Campbell, instead. Even then, our offense would still be worse than 2025.
  4. It does, right? He was added a month after Rafaela, DHam & Abreu were added to the 40 back in NOV '22. Right now, those 3 are tied for 10th on 40 Man Roster seniority! Mada is 13th!
  5. We can sign one and trade for one, but it's likely Duran will be part of the trade, so it will be giving up some O to get some O. If we trade Duran for a pitcher (Lodolo?) then adding even (just) Alonso is a net loss on offense. No 1200 PAs from Devers, Bregman, Refsnyder and Lowe. Alonso can make up for 650. Maybe Anthony makes up for 350, but we're short 200 PAs just to get back to even, and that assume everyone else does the same.
  6. Sign Suarez Trade Mayer, Valera & Tolle for Greene Trade Duran, Harrison & Perales for K Marte 1. L Anthony LF 2. S K Marte 2B 3. L Abreu RF/ R Refsnyder RF 4. R Suarez 3B 5. L Yoshida/R Refsnyder 6. R Story SS 7. L Casas 1B/ R Romy 1B 8. R Narvaez C 9. R Rafaela CF SP: Crochet, Greene. Gray, Bello, ____
  7. MLBTR projected $21M x 3. They were $3M off on Cease, but got 7 years right. They got Schwarber's years right at 5, but missed by $3M/yr. Does that mean Suarez gets $24M x 3? Adding $3M/yr to other MLBTR projections: $33M x 5 Valdez $30M x 6 Bregman $30M x 4 Alonso $29M x 8 Bichette $28M x 5 Imai $26M x 5 R Suarez $25M x 8 Murakami $21M x 2 M Kelly $19M x 4 Okamoto $18M/2 H-S Kim and Realmuto $17M x 3 Polanco
  8. I'd guess Alonso would prefer BOS> BAL. If the Cubs outbid us for Breggie, I'm fine, as long as we get Alonso, KMarte or two from Suarez, Polanco & Lodolo.
  9. You beat me to it!
  10. The MLB FIP has gone up, then down, recently: 4.27>3.97>4.33>4.08>4.16 It looks like Kutter has been close to the league average. It's hard enough for us to place value on Kutter. I'm sure many GM would just pass or wait it out to see what he looks like in 2026. Dobbins is likely a wait and see guy, too. Harrison might hold the most trade valuer of the 3. Just how much do Kutter and Perales add to a Duran trade? (I'm not sure I wanna part with Tolle or Early, unless we get a big game changer.)
  11. If the rumor on not wanting to go much over the tax line is correct, Suarez gets us there, if you add a $3-5M LH'd RP'er.
  12. Maybe the 4th year brings it to $112-116M/4. That's a $28-29M AAV. Would he take $125-130M/5? ($25-26M AAV)
  13. Looks that way. He might be a better Plan B option than Polanco. I'd be pretty pissed, if our winter added up to Gray, Suarez, Oviedo and some lefty no name RP"er.
  14. We might won it all with Devers. Certainly, Harrison and Hicks did nothing plus.
  15. Sox reported to have "talked" with the Suarez camp.
  16. That's not Ole Red speculating, is it? lol
  17. Word is the NYM won't go past 3 years for Alonso. 4 years for the 31 year old crappy defensive 1Bman who has played 162 games for 2 straight seasons? OPS+ 144 and 130 last 3 years 40 HRs per 162 since '22 4-5 years for a good defensive 3Bman who turns 32 in March? OPS+ 128 and 121 last 3 years 27 HRs per 162 since '22 __________________ Since Mayer can play 3B or 2B, it's really about replacing Casas with Alonso or Romy/DHam at 2B over Mayer/Romy with Bregman. __________________ I'd go with Alonso for 4 years over Bregman for 4-5 years. Close call.
  18. Fangraphs had him at a $33M value- certainly up for debate. His differed money was apparently worth $32.6M- also a debatable number. We probably don't make the playoffs, so what was that worth? (Certainly up for debate.)
  19. Good points, and maybe Crawford is more like the guy from mid July> than the one from before, but with the state of pitching in MLB, he'd probably be a #4 or 5 on many team- maybe a #3 on few, assuming he sticks to his 4.35 FIP.
  20. Yup, a single A suspect. Open roster slot for _____.
  21. Staying even is a losing strategy.
  22. $30M x 5 years for an old foggie!
  23. This guy is pretty damn good, but missed some time, last year. He's at the age where maybe he explodes. HOU traded Tucker for this guy (and other.) I really like Tolle and Early, but I'd consider trading one for him.
  24. Report says BOS interested in Paredes. HOU interested in Tolle or Early. Paredes turns 27 soon. He has 90 HRs in his last 2031 PAs (since '22.) That's almost 30 over 650. He has a .793 OPS since '23. Career: .805 v L and .754 v R
