  1. Bello threw 55 pitches, tonight. 3 IP 3 H 1 ER 1 BB Valdez went 2 IP, 0H, 0ER, 1BB, 3K RHern making a case for a shot at next season's back-up catcher. (2-5 w 10th HR) Paulino 2-5 w 3B Not much else happening. 1K
  2. To the people who say Diekman was only $4M, think about Carpenter.
  3. Would you rather have used Diekman?
  4. He's healthier than Arroyo. His defense is better. Arroyo hits way better, when available. This is about utility roles, and you are right. Downs is not a full time starter, right now.
  5. The Padres really want OF help, and if Haniger will be healthy, I think this offer is more realistic than the previous one.
  6. I thought of that right after I clicked submit.

  8. Still, way underpaid in market prices, but that will soon change.
  9. I'm sure he thought he's be better than .497. I think he hoped it was also more than .544, his current OPS, but yes, that was a part of the idea. To me, the biggest parts of the deal were: 1. Improving RF/CF defense. 1A. Hoping a prospect turns out a net plus. 3. Hoping JBJ could hit near .675 to .700. 4. Thinking Renfroe was due for a regression, anyway and not liking his defense.
  10. You don't have to convince me. I hated this trade from the first second it was made.
  11. He has shown some power. He's on the 40 man roster. Sanchez, Fitzy and others are not. That's why he got the call. Plus, let's find out something on him.
  12. Last night, Houck got the blown save and the win. Brasier got his first save of the season.
  13. What if he started and didn’t let up the 3 run jack?
  14. Good to see Bobby Dee make a significant contribution, but he's still firmly in my doghouse. 1B is still at the top of my deadline addition list, after 50 straight years with pitching being #1.
  15. Those 4 GIDPs really yanked the Yanks. They still left 10 men on base, despite the 4 DPs!
  16. Groome at AAA 6 IP 5 H 0 ER 3 BB 5 K German shutdowns the 9th Stewart quietly gets up to .811 (2-3 w 3 rbi) Granberg 2-5 Great news from Portland, where I'm at, now: Mata 5 IP 5 H 0 ER 1 BB 7 K Hamilton 2-4 Koss 1-4 w 10th HR Salem with a shutout (Encarnacion 5 IP 2H 2BB 8K & De la Rosa 4 IP 3H 1BB 4K) Mayer 1-3 w BB Greenville couldn't provide the clean system sweep, tonight, losing 6-4. Kavadas is a nightly highlight show: 2-4 w HR (NO BB! 2 K!!!- Oh NO!) 1.360 OPS (I think he's earned a promotion.) Jimenez 2-4 w 2B (OPS up to .714)
  17. Larry, the Soto talk has to stop.
  18. How can we fix this? Start by winning this series vs the Yanks. One series at a time, guys!
  19. Please don't take this as defending JBJ. I'm still applying ointment to the scabs on my head from the day we traded for him, but he was never this bad for the Sox. .518 2021-2022 (MIL + BOS) .760 2019-2020 .722 2017-2018 .834 2015-2016
