    Me, too. It would be his second AS year, as he made it back in 2016 with his .835 season. He had a 6 year stretch of .769 batting ('15-'20), but within those seasons were some horrific slumps surrounding some mighty hot streaks. He's rarely been anywhere near consistent with the bat, but his defense has carried him through those rough patches way more often than not. His last two seasons have seen a His first two ML seasons saw a .548 OPS over 530 PAs. His last two seasons have seen a .536 OPS over 592 PAs. Together, those 4 seasons bring his career OPS down to just above .700 (.702).     I have no problem with Whitlock getting no K's. The 0 BBs is what matters more.

    Pannone went 5 3 H 1 ER 0 BB 7 K Duran got on base 2 of 5 times. German K'd 3 in the 9th for the save. Bazardo went 1.2, but allowed a run. Koss went 2 for 4 in the Sea Dogs loss. Greenville was one hit (Rafaela) and lost 1-0. Kavadas has his OPS up to .894, now. Salem wins 6-1.

    Here are the free agents to be with their prorated contract amounts (1/3 actual 2021 salary): $7.3M JD $6.7M Bogey $5.7M Eovaldi $4.0M JBJ (option for '23) $2.5M Kike $2.3M Wacha $1.7M Hill $1.0M Strahm $750K Robles $750K Plawecki Barnes might be tarded, if anyone wants him. ($2.8M + $8,4M '23) Diekman is owed $3M in '23 with $1M buyout for '24.

    Kelly is having a real hard time at AAA. Why should he do better in the bigs? Sub Seabold for Kelly.

    Not enough to make me pine for keeping him, and the biggest reason for the deal was to shed CC and Beckett's contracts. It was a good choice "letting him go." We won a ring, afterwards, thanks partly to the money freed up by that trade.

    ...and even if you think he has a big say in what the Rays, did, they had severe financial limits, so judging by the "Ray's Way," is futile. Now, do I think we hired him to try and find some low cost gems? Yes, but that does not mean that's all we hired him for.

    Why assume I think there are not others. I actually like the idea, too. I think Houck should have been tried, first, but I've agreed on one of them being tried as the closer since opening day. Again, I don't want to, need to or care to hear talk show yappers.
