  1. Has anyone done a breakdown on all the key players lost and gained by each AL East team? Please add names I missed: BAL? Add: A Frazier, K Gibson, Cordero Lost: Jorge Lopez, Mancini, Lyles, Aguilar TOR? Add: Bass, Swanson Lost: T Hernandez, Stripling TBR? Add: Eflin Lost: Kluber, Zunino NYY? Add: Rodon, Kahnle Lost: Taillon, Chapman, Gallo, Britton, BOS: Add: Yoshida, Jansen, Martin, Joely, Mills (if you want to count more from Casas and Bello, Kelly, German, Wong and some prospects or even more from Kike & Story, Sale, Paxton...) McGuire Lost: Bogey, Nate, JD, Wacha, Hill, Vaz, Strahm, JBJ, Diekman, Downs I know I'm missing a lot. I know other teams are expecting more from many players who were injured in 2022 or not called up until later in the season.
  2. No, it does not matter, if sometimes you said CF D. You said CF. I said you said just CF and you denied saying and called me a liar. The fact that you still can't just say, "I meant to say CF" speaks volumes. Yes, I have said things that aren't true or realized I wasw rong later and admitted it and apologized, when needed. That's the big difference, and if you knew what being on a high hose meant, you'd see it is you on the horse, not me. I was wrong to say you hated Cora, when you never said it. I said I was wrong and apologized. It didn't help, because yo keep bringing it up, as if I'm still saying it I was wrong to say Kike had the best season on defense in CF in my lifetime when a half dozen others were just as good or better. I agreed when called out for my over exuberance on a current Sox player I cheer for. You'll never say you even made a slight mistake, mistyped or didn't mean exactly what you wrote. Instead, you double and triple down on a your false statement and blame others for not knowing what words mean.
  3. You called me a liar for saying something you said and doubled down by saying you did not say it. I'm not missing the meaning of what you said, and it doesn't matter if you said "D" a few times or not. You said what I said you said, and you called me a liar, then denied you said it. How hard is to to say, "I meant to say CF D," or "My bad, I thought I said CF D?" You still can't say it. I don't understand why it's so hard to just say it. Instead you blame me for not knowing you implied CF D. Words have meaning, except to you, I guess. (I knew would go back to taking horses and horse s***.)
  4. But you won't acknowledge how the lack of it affects a GM's chances at quickly building a winner.
  5. Yet, Bloom is given no or very little leeway when you look at the farm infusions of all or wiing teams vs what he got in 3 years plus what was added in the previous 2 years before he took over. You never seem to take any context into account. Would the 67, or 75, or any winning Sox team been nearly as good with next to nothing in the 5 years prior to those good seasons? Yet, somehow yours and others' expectations don't seem to take that into account. Add to that the burdensome contracts he inherited and the sporadic declines of the vets and "stars", plus the mandate to trade Betts and Price, but nope: bottom line is winning and winning only. Everything else is just "an excuse." Well, the "excuse" for winning was having impactful farm infusions leading up to the glory years or close to glory years.
  6. I'm sorry, but I have to disagree. Our biggest need is SP, SS (or 2B), RF and then maybe another SP, a catcher and another RP'er. DH is maybe 6th or 7th. I could be okay with 5th or even 4th, if we filled the top 3 adequately. Would you rather have Arroyo and E Valdez at 2B and Story out of position at SS and JD at DH vs Andrus at SS, Story at 2B and Dugo/Ref/Dalbec/Arroyo sharing DH? Kluber as our #3 SP and Houck in the pen vs JD at DH and Houck as the #3 and Brasier still on the 26? Anderson or Conforto in RF and Dugo/Ref/Yoshida/Dalbec in LF and DH vs JD at DH and Yoshida in LF w Dugo?Ref in RF? I know we should be able to do more than one of these things, and if we sign Andrus and Kluber, I'd feel better about JD over a RF'er, but when are we going to fill just one of our top 3 highest needs?
  7. Yes, you have said "on D" many times, but why can't you just admit you often say just "CF" and not "CF on D?" You do know, it's actually a sign of strength not of weakness to admit a mistake. The thing is you have done this often and to say I am lying to say you said you did, when it is clear you said it just digs yourself deeper into your lie. Did I lie to say you said it? Did you call me a liar for saying the truth? Calling me a liar is yet another lie. Covering lies that covered lies that covered... I don't expect a truthful answer- just more diversions, talk of horses, and maybe a good night Dick.
  8. This season we had 4-5 guys that LF was their best position- other than maybe DH: Verduo Duran Cordero Pham Almonte and maybe Refsnyder Now, it's... Verdugo Yoshida Duran pending: JD (certainly DH is #1 by far) and maybe Refsnyder
  9. Wasn't on a horse to get hurt getting off of. Answer my Q, now: the same one I asked twice: Is signing a .310 BA player from Japan better than signing a .200 BA player from Japan? If yes, please explain if all that matters is MLB "proof."
  10. There are bigger FAs than he. There are also more FAs in areas we actually need than DH. Is Bloom trying to hoard DHs? Is there a rule change coming up, where all position players can have a DH for them in the line-uP?
  11. This is you quote, still on the same page as this continuing lie: I’m not exposed. The disagreement on the best CF, and Kike not being a playoff hero to me is the real deal. Like I’ll repeat if you wasn’t so hung up on Kike it wouldn’t matter what was said, but you are, and it does, and that seems like a problem for you. Post #2237 is fact. This is not the first time you said CF and not CF D. Mayb e you meant to say "D," but after you've done it at least 5 times, and been called out each time, I find it hard to believe it was a typing mistake. The fact that you doubled down on not saying it just minutes after posting exactly the lie I spoke of shows exactly who won't come down off his high horse and admit being wrong.
  12. Glad you finally came to understand this. Now, if you could only understand what a powerful impact this has on the team's roster and budget, and how it makes it extremely difficult for any GM to build a winning and consistent team. Devers was called up in 2017. He was a Ben addition from 2013 that DD chose not to trade away- thank God! Houck is the only notable prospect called up between Devers and Bello, and as you pointed out Bello has yet to "live uo to the hype," so yes "a drought" is a good word to describe only Houck in 5+ years. Whitlock did not come from our farm, but he was a farm addition by Bloom, who made an immediate impact greater than all the prospects combined in those 5 year. He has exceeded "the hype," so to say. The next impact players will be DD guys- Casas, Bello, Rafaela, Mata, Walter and maybe Paulino, Perales, Wikleman and others. It took or will take 4-7+ years form these guys yo "live up to the hype" or not. Bloom only started adding players to the farm, 3 years ago, and we already have seen Whitlocm and lesser ones like Wong, Wink and Seabold. Coming sooner or later are... Mayer, Yorke, Bleis, Romero, Anthony and others like Jordan, Hickey, Kavadas, Valdez and Rodriguez-Cruz, among others. We should see a flood of incoming prospects, of which a few are almost surely going to be impactful, but it's just speculation, now.
  13. I agree, but it is just "on paper," so far, except the Whitlock farm addition via Rule 5, which has paid dividends worth more than the 5 year stretch of DD farm impacts between Devers (not his farm guy) and Bello/Casas.
  14. Report: Sox interested in another DH... JD! https://wwcw.mlbtraderumors.com/2022/12/red-sox-have-interest-in-j-d-martinez-reunion.html Does Bloom know there are other positions we need?
  15. Who said, you said that I said you said...? You did say I said "Kike was the best CF'er," and I never did. You've repeated the same lie a half dozen times. I never claimed you said by twice as much. I just picked a possible number to show how you can't prove what offers other made, and it's pure speculation and opinion to say what you said way back a t the signing... Now the rest of the story that the Red Sox just didn’t outbid every other team, but every other team by a large margin is the question, but that’s what’s out there. Talk about high horsing it. We don't even know if any other teams made an actual offer. If they did, what is your or the scout's definition of "a large margin?" Double? 50%? 25%? BTW, I think the report you got your information from did say something about no other team willing to pay half of what the Sox paid him. Newsflash: A team paid Bogey double what many teams would have offered.
  16. Red will tell you there is no proof the farm was improved until we see results, but he wants Bloom canned before- the proof has any chance of presenting itself. The Bello & Bloom call-ups are the residual affects of DD's farm, but I guess one could argue, Bloom did not trade them away, like some would have done a year or two ago, or even more recently. Others will tell you the budget will be about what it was when Bloom took over, and only the Sale deal remains to blame it all on DD. Like Ben, before him, his contributions may only be realized by the next GM, just as Bloom may see some boost from DD's farm, soon.
  17. You still get it wrong. You keep saying best CF'er, when I said best defensive season by a CF'er. This is another clear example how you intentionally choose to build strawmen, over and over and over. You are arguing against a position nobody held. I said I felt he had the b est defensive CF season I had seen, Later, I agreed others had some that were as great or maybe even greater. Yes, that's me on my high horse, admitting I was ignoring some other great defensive seasons. Fine, if you don't see Kike's 2021 playoff performance as being worthy of the term "hero," but we all know your disdain for Kike goes way beyond those two positions I held and your disagreement with them. Way, Way, WAY beyond that. Just fess up, and say good night, Dick. I fessed up I was wrong about Kike's defensive season. Who is on the high horse?
  18. I said before my statement there was no evidence, except one thing. If the Sox offered what Borass wanted at any time, he'd be signed, right now. If they offered him the "market price" at anytime, he might have signed, at least that's what many here are saying. How is that falling off a high horse. I said my opinion was based on speculation. What evidence do you have no other team was talking more than half what the Sox offered? Even if it proves to be true, there is no 100% proof for you to make yu claim without qualifying by saying you are speculating.
  19. So, maybe the "plan" was to let Betts go to free agency and trade Bogey, but Bloom messed up the plan.
  20. I quoted you. Yes, let's end the discussion once your are exposed.
  21. “Nobody even offered even half for Strahm than what he was paid,” I heard two scouts saying, the other night in a bar outside of Houston.
  22. Talk about saying things with no evidence, at all. Now, you know what "they were expecting?" You crap all over me for saying I am speculating that the Sox never wanted to pay B ogey what his market value was at any point in the process." You make your statements watthour saying it's speculation, but hey, that's okay, because everyone can say their opinions. Literally, my ass just fell off laughing too hard.
  23. Yes, you had one criteria for Beni and another for Kike. I always have someone bashing someone like Bloom..." I admit, I don't understand that point but can guess whatever it is, I won't agree.. Being critical of someone just to get under someone's skin, perhaps because you don't agree with him being overly grateful or optimistic about a Sox player doing well, is the very definition of trolling. Your stated intent was to "rag on Kike, because [i like him too much.]" That's being a troll. (look it up.)
  24. Bloom "treats Hosmer right." Nice choice on who you do and who you don't... “Our roster isn’t complete yet, but as we build our club, we feel it’s important to give Triston a clear lane, and that carrying two left-handed hitting first basemen would leave us short in other areas. Given that, it’s important to do right by Eric and give him time to find his next opportunity. We knew when we first got him that this day would come at some point, and wanted to make sure we treated him right.”
  25. It's a very legitimate question, as with any signing, and more so with bigger and longer ones. For some reason, they chose Yoshida. For an even more questionable reason, to me, they chose to spend almost half their winter spending, so far on LF/DH. They obviously think his skills will translate into something special, or at least worth equal or more than $105M. It's a stab in the dark, whereas the signing of a MLB player may be just a stab in the dusk. I get that, but the guy has a skillset that looks super special, and even if it transfers over to the bigs at 80%, he would be worth it. We still need a SP, SS and RF'er. The Sox are on the clock.
