  1. What is the $41K number mean? ($41M?) Hendriks probably will pitch, this year.
  2. No. I never said a peep about Jansen or even using Joely. I support Cora way more than others. I did not mean to imply Cora called for the steal attempt, but it really hurt. On the "only one lefty" thing, I agree, but many RHPs do very well vs LHPs. The bloop hit was unfortunate. Had that ball been caught, Cora would not be bashed.
  3. 1. L Duran CF 2. L Devers 3B 3. R Story SS 4. L Casas 1B 5. L Yoshida DH 6. R O'Neill LF 7. L Abreu RF 8. L E Valdez 2B 9. L McGuire C It's just like Cora to bench one of our hottest hitter. I guess the 23 year old is in need of a "scheduled day off." We only have 3 batters over a .641 OPS, and Rafaela and Wong are two of them- both are on the bench, tonight. Plus, Duran in CF hurts the D.
  4. I'm in a pool of 25 at $20 per entry. If TN wins it all, I win $500 (-$40 in 2 entry fees) I'm out of it by 1 pt in my UCONN pool.
  5. Don't forget the caught stealing by Reyes before that double.
  6. Let's not forget how the defense hurt our chances at winning, last night, too. (There were also some cheesy hits, but that is all part of the game.) 1st inning Bunt single to Reyes & bad throw moves runner to 2B Ground ball single scores an unearned run. 10th inning Bloop single down LF line Line drive single to RF- runner advance to 3B on throwing error. Line drive single scores winning run from 3B. (Not sure if runner scores from 2B on that hit.) I will say, some of us look correct when we wondered why Bernardino did not make the 26 over Joely.
  7. If this was a tone-setter, yuck-a-doodle-doo!
  8. Just because Joely is a lefty doesn't mean he's good.
  9. Haniger always scares the beJesus out of me.
  10. Van Belle went 5 scoreless. 5 Hits 0 BB 6 Ks Yesterday, Gambrell went 4 scoreless. 3 Hits 2 BB 7 Ks 9 scoreless IP by Woo's rotation to start the year.
  11. Yuu, a damn good pitcher.
  12. Just cause he's taller.
  13. Yup. We don't have many high OBP guys, either.
  14. He did have a 7.4 fWAR from 2022-2023 (17th best in MLB.) He must have done well vs others, too.
  15. I like Reyes over Bobby Dee at 3B.
  16. This does seem to be a good SP match-up for us, but with no Devers, I'm out on a limb.
  17. May 25, 2023 to April 29, 2024 with 100+ IP: 74 Pitchers had 100+ IP, since then Pivetta was 2nd in K/9 at 12.63 (14th in K:BB at 4.68) ERA- 6. Pivetta 66 38. Crawford 92 44. B Bello 95 ERA 7. Pivetta 2.93 47. Crawford 4.16 50. B Bello 4.26 FIP 11. Pivetta 3.22 22. Crawford 3.63 56. Bello 4.49 fWAR T26 Crawford 2.3 T26 Pivetta 2.3 T55 B Bello 1.4
  18. Why would a catcher complain, when the calls are helping his team?
  19. In true form, Max. LOL
  20. I'm hoping he won't be out for long. The guy can probably hit .900, one handed. If he can't throw, it will mean he DHs, Yoshi goes to LF and as of now, Reyes and Dalbec cover 3B.
  21. Let's hope Crawford can take over where Pivetta left off... Nick Pivetta strikes out 10 in first start of 2024 WWW.MLB.COM SEATTLE -- In a rotation otherwise consisting of pitchers in their mid-20s, the season-ending injury to Lucas Giolito has left Nick Pivetta as the lone veteran in the group. And the 31-year-old might just be the person to take on the responsibility that entails. Not only do the Red Sox 6 IP 3 H 1 ER 10 K 0 BB
  22. Brasier will suck, again. Mark my words.
