    i got a chance to shake tug mcgraws hand at a little league dinner when i was a 10 year old. he told us the story of how he gut his nickname tug. his mom gave it to him....apparently he enjoyed getting his milk as a baby......

    i understand your point. i think mine might be being missed. there is only 1 reason he was sent out in a 8-0 game with 99 pitches to pitch the 8th inning. 1 reason. it wasn't a team reason.

    but he's got his 300 K'S!!!!! personally, even if the division is locked up - i wont be surprised if he talks JF into starting him anyways so that he can get the team record for K's in a season. player > team.

    the MLB landscape is filled with "ace like" pitchers that are unable to toe the rubber because the arm can only take so much. one only has to look on our roster to find a $31MM Ace that has failed to climb in the ring most of the season. when it's the end of the season and you can give the arm of your ace a game, a few innings, a few pitches off....you do it. it's pretty simple stuff. JF f***ed up big time. to defend him on his decision to let Sale throw 111 pitches in a blowout game in mid September when you are headed to the postseason is [ ]? you fill in the blank.

    a pitchers arm only has so many bullets. wasting them on a blowout game with a oversized September pen sitting there is f***ing dumb. it's as simple as that. it's not really debatable. ask sandy koufax if a pitchers arm has infinite bullets.....

    Max. He should have been rested after the 5th inning his last start. All those bullets should have been saved

    also - who is in charge of Sox medical staff? honestly the dude needs to be fired. there is NO WAY nunez should have been in the lineup if he can't even make a swing at an outside slider. i mean...the MLB RH pitcher earns their livelyhood on outside sliders to a RH batter....it's not a secret or a unheard of pitch.

    honestly i could not believe nunie wasnt pulled from the game right then and there. we needed the guy for the post season. not game# 156. the second he crumpled on that swing he needed to be removed.

    what weight does it hold? it wasn't a BDC member that started the thread. if i had started this thread then damn well your point is taken. but as it stands, it just doesnt reconcile with what you are saying. also, since i am the only BDC transfer that has posted in this thread...read my post and tell me which part of it attacks a specific poster or which part of my post you (or the other longtime oldheads) disagree with. thanks.

    They haven't said anything. I'm going by my eyes and what I saw. His knee is toast for this season. It needed more time but he tweaked it again big time. Betts will be fine though. Hopefully CY sprains something though....
