this def drives me nuts. it is compounded when a player in the previous or next AB swings at a first pitch that is out of the zone (see: breaking pitch in the dirt). Eff Chili?

I hear you S&C. sometimes an infielder needs the 1b to pick them up, help them out, give them a bit of confidence that even if the throw isn't "perfect" the man is there to carry the load. i honestly cannot remember too many instances where mitch has saved our fielders an E. honestly his footwork looks terrible to me most of the time. even on throws that are clean. wide throws or short throws he never seems to step the correct direction to elongate himself fully to the ball.

i watched it frame by frame on my DVR. this should have been scooped by any person with a glove on their hand and some barehanded. elderly and the sick would have picked this throw. you have watched baseball long enough to know that the official scorer has no choice but to give the thrower of the ball the E. even though he knows the true blame is with the first baseman.....

Like most trades for a prospect....TBD. Espinosa worth wont be known for a grip of years. of course now the MLB player will be "worth it". he's playing and contributing. nobody was expecting Espy on the 2017 Sox 25 man roster or 40 man for that matter. let's hold off on sucking each others dicks for a few years and see what comes of the kid......

yeah, so i dont think anyone is trying to crucify devers. should he be playing? absolutely. he is our best option. that said, i wouldnt be surprised to see a defensive replacement for him late innings with a lead.......

it was an overpay no doubt. but we couldnt go into that season with Koji as our closer. a deal need to be done. but probably should have been done for less. last year the deal looked much worse than this year. if Kimby dominates in the postseason and we have a parade...the deal is platinum....
