  1. Maybe. There's a possibility Young could also struggle when he returns.
  2. In light of what Texas traded away for Beltran, Dillon Tate #4th overall 2015 draft (Benintendi went #7th btw), plus a few more prospects to the Yanks. Yikes. Then consider Beni's floor which shouldn't be too far away from what we've had most of the season in LF anyway, not to mention his potential ceiling. I'm not sure what to expect from Beni, but he's earned a cup of coffee. And I think it's the best option we have, no matter what the immediate outcome is.
  3. What I don't understand is that somehow questioning or speculating the timeline of a position change in the minors is out-right blasphemy. We question management about everything else don't we? Why is this off-limits? No doubt, every team has a typical baseline procedure of doing things, but it's not written in stone. Moncada & Benintendi aren't your typical minor leaguers either. I thought the most conservative approach was to wait until AAA, with the worst approach being to wait until they were brought up to the Majors (because we've seen this far too often). I like the proactive approach they're going with w/ these two right now. Sooner than later for these two. The signs have been glowing in neon and pointing to this for a while now. Yes, even 2 months ago.
  4. I'm not moving the goal posts. You have a special talent for twisting someone else's words into the most negative extreme. What Moon suggested really wasn't that radical to begin with, but after you got done with it it was. And btw, LF IS a perceived need.
  5. UN? ... That writing has been up on that wall for a while now regarding a Moncada & Benny position change. It seemed like they'd wait until AAA to do it, but some on here denied any possiblity it could happen sooner, and that anyone who thought sooner than later was indeed plausible were dubbed idiots who didn't know what they were talking about.
  6. Further evidence of, if you care less about K's & more about just plain results, Quintana might be the safer get. Sale reminds me of a less mature Curt Schilling, if that's even possible. Even w/ that whole Adam LaRoche thing this past Spring. He runs his mouth off without knowing exactly how s*** went down. Real loose trigger finger when something doesn't go his way & takes things way too personal. Would I still love for him to switch Sox, yes ... But that's based on his talent & nothing else.
  7. Good question. Baseball players are funny like that though. Were they too tight, too loose, was it superstition, or just a bad attitude? More importantly, could Sale help me w/ some of my old clothes?
  8. Ahh, but if I'm a GM looking to rebuild, long-term value (especailly at a premium position) is exactly what I want to trade for. I'm simply playing devil's advocate here. Although I'm also one of the few on here that thinks Swihart's value has not dropped off AS MUCH as some claim. Also, Thanks for putting more thought into your answer than others.
  9. See THIS is where you lose me. I more or less agree Moncada has the higher trade value, however I think it's much more close taking everything into consideration.
  10. Ok. Let me ask you, do you think Swihart's overall trade value is below Moncada's? I'm honestly curious on anyone's opinion on that here.
  11. Well, if they're seriously looking to rebuild they would. The rest you mention are true and play a huge part on the asking price. It comes down to where they see their team the next 3 1/2 years.
  12. Oh, I agree w/ you. I just wouldn't do it that's all.
  13. Yeah, I wouldn't do that trade. If you replaced Moncada w/ Swihart ... I'd consider it. I'd have a long think. If we had a guy like Sale, I wouldn't care so much on who our 5th starter would be. With our offense, we'd be favored every 4 out of 5 games. Our #5 cld be you, or me... They cld bring Moon out of retirement to throw his softball-knuckleball for all I care. Lol
  14. SouthPaw, I always meant to ask you what kind of music you play. Moving a lot of heavy gear cld have an effect too.
  15. Ugh, that sucks. Hopefully its not painful. I got a shoulder that clicks & clacks and grinds & pops but no actual pain (yet). If my ankle ever gets back to 100%, I think I may still wear some kind of a light weight brace for the next two years i envision.
  16. I think what DD said before the Pom trade still holds true. There was nobody available as talented as ERod. I'm more interested in ERod's starts than Pomeranz's to be honest.
  17. I was hopeful for a Swihart return this week, but his ankle is still "talking back to him" from last report earlier in the week. I guess there's no hurry now anyways. Does kinda'' make me feel better about my own ankle sprain back in the Spring. Some days are tough still. It kills after a nights sleep, gradually gets better through-out the day, but still mildly swells up. I'm thinking he cld probably play with a brace on, but why push it? Glad our offense and Leon & Holt are doing so well we don't have to push him out there. And again, his immediate trade value to a contender is affected by this, but not his trade value to a team looking to rebuild for next year and beyond.
  18. Yeah you probably right.
  19. I agree. I never squawked at Leon & always liked him to be our #2 Catcher after trading Hanigan & one of Swihart/Vazquez. But you have to admit, No one ever saw THIS coming out of Leon and it's a beautiful problem(?) to have.
  20. Are the White Sox sellers yet? I'm give them Pom, ERod, & Devers for Sale (w/ the hopes of extending him, but he has two team options for 2018 & 2019).
  21. Mendoza Pumpkin Lol!!! I'm stealing that If Hannigan or Leon helped us get a TOTR SP I'd trade them in a heartbeat. Do we sell high on Leon or is he just the Man that we keep? ... Is my question
  22. Let's just stock-up on BP arms in Free Agency & hopefully we can make trade for a bonafide totr SP. I'll throw in Pomeranz on the right deal for a #1 or #2.
  23. Thanx. So nobody then lol:(
  24. I always thought Holt wld be much more valuable to an NL team than an AL team considering his versatility. I value Holt a lot and wld hate to see him go, but I thought he was gone this past winter to be a part of a bigger package for a SP. I'm still suprised that didn't happen. Having Holt is a luxury I thought we cld trade to upgrade bigger needs and we wld've bedn selling high on him over the winter w/ him coming off his All-Star selection. In my mind, he's still a luxury in the face of bigger needs (Starting Pitching).
  25. Oooh ... Kenley Jansen is an off-season FA? I hope we go after him. I like the list of BP arms, Starters???? Maybe Moore and that's probly it.
