  1. HAhaha LOL That's the first thing that came to my mind too! Jacksonianmarch, are you the 3-eyed Raven?
  2. I usually hold off until around this part of the season to get a better idea of what kind of season free agents should wind up having. He's 30, turns 31 in May. His worst year was back in '13 with a 3.97 ERA, but he pitched over 200 innings that year. I'd even like what he's been doing lately, which is a solid 170+ innings a season. Seems like a good workhorse even if his ERA rises to 4... as a #3, I'd be fine with that... I think? Cardinals may want to re-sign him. I don't think it's the typical Cardinal ploy that is. Edit: 2017 League Ranks: • 3rd in NL in BB (68) • 6th in NL in ERA (2.94) • 8th in NL in WHIP (1.16) Plus he's tied for 11th place with 18 Quality Starts this season. Other Sp's w/ 18 QS are: Fulmer,Stroman, Kershaw, Bundy, Santana, Samarjia, Porcello, & Strasburgh.
  3. Really? It doesn't feel like it. Maybe because they scored more Runs in August than either June or July. The hitting got worse (Even w/ Nunez and Devers???), but the ability to score Runs got better? f***in' figures.... This team is weird.
  4. Slim pickins' on the FA front, but I agree. I'd try and target Lance Lynn. Going back from last year, Mark Reynolds has shown much improvement and could be a quick fix at 1B as a power threat. His hitting has improved the last 3 years, Avg/OPS/WAR all trending upward. I'd probably over-pay for Lynn, not so much for Reynolds though.
  5. I'd go with Price if he's healthy. He can be our Bauer in some ways.
  6. I'll give Trump a little credit. It's quarter after 10am on 9/11 and no planes have crashed into any skyscrapers yet.
  7. Can't hold onto them all and we certainly couldn't play them all. Would I have tried to hold onto one or two more blue chips on the way? Sure. But overall, it's not about having the #1 farm system year in year out. Not if you want to compete for a championship in the Majors. This is the ebb and flow of almost every team's system. Would I have done things a little different? Sure. But not that different.
  8. I think your definition of "core" differs from mine. We didn't deal away any talent for talent we already had ( i.e. Betts, JBJ, Beni, Devers, Bogey).
  9. was it an "angry" post? Maybe, maybe not. Either way, I'd be hard pressed to disagree with it. I will digress from it now though.
  10. If it's close w/ 2 strikes, I'm fine with it. If it's how he got those 2 strikes, I'm not fine with it.
  11. Can't lay off the slider away either.
  12. Getting Nunez and Davis, I don't see any less aggressive base running in our future. I think we'll see even more aggressive base running in the post season. I think we'll see an uptick of both "reasonable gambles" and "stupid chances". Although, the reasonable gambles will be from Nunez, Davis, and Betts. The stupid chances from everyone else.
  13. For me, since it was already in the ether when he was in the minors, that it was conceivable that Devers could eventually move to 1B (which wasn't that long ago), I don't think I'd overly mind. His hitting is what i've always been excited about.
  14. Right, last year we had Ortiz in our lineup. That's part of my argument of why Farrell needed to re-think the batting order way faster than he did.
  15. Smh... Prove It! lol
  16. Farrell was MONTHS behind on all of that. For the players and for the offense's production on the whole. No way does he get ANY credit from me when he waited over 2/3rds of the season to make that change.
  17. "Weird thing is, our LF OPS (.733) is worse than last year's (.759) despite Beni going FT. (Beni is .757 as a LF'er this year.)" I would think Young and Holt hold atleast some of the responsibility for this though, no?
  18. I know we have a better Home record than Away (by alot actually), but we score more on the road and have only surrendered 5 more runs on the road compared to Home (taken before last night).
  19. Maybe true, but that's not what i'm asking. Obviously a lot needs to happen for the Laker's pick to have the same or better value than the Net's pick. We're counting on atleast one out of the 3 teams to suck, but not suck so much that they end up getting the #1 pick. A lot more stipulations for that pick vs the Net's turn key pick. Different question: To me that Net's #1 pick was "IT insurance". Is anyone else besides me a little annoyed the Cavs didn't realize this and asked for more after the deal was done?
  20. Archer probably pissed but he'll never know when Betts will be his pilot again
  21. from my fantasy league: Nunez is not in the lineup for Friday's game as he continues to recover from back spasms that arose following Wednesday's contest, Rob Bradford of WEEI.com reports. Spin: Nunez will be available for Friday's game after receiving treatment during Thursday's scheduled off day. Manager John Farrell expects that Nunez will be back in the lineup for Saturday's contest.
  22. You could be right. The more opinions I read up on, it's starting to look like a split between those who think the Nets will be an average team versus a still horrible team. What pick would have you preferred to give up? The Net's pick or the Laker's pick with this deal? I know if the Laker's 2018 pick isn't 2-5 it gets punted to the King's (except if #1 Overall) or the Sixer's (except if #1 Overall) 2019 1st rd pick.
  23. Or it's the exact opposite. Possible Farrell has actually done less with more.
  24. Could it be he wants more years too?
