  1. Beni has faced 15 LH'd SPs this season and is batting .171/231/.214/.445 against them. Stanton w/ 25 games vs LH'd SP 2017: .278/.358/.701/1.059 I don't know right now how many LH'd SPs we'll face next season, but sitting Beni vs. all of them sounds good to me.
  2. ummm... LF
  3. BTW, just busting StephenCurry's balls a bit. Had me cracking up the other day catching-up on some posts threads.
  4. Of course not. That would be ridiculous. No, I'd play him in LF about 14 times a year. We're currently 27th in the League in HRs. Would it be THAT wrong?
  5. On Line #1, I'd be talking with Miami about Stanton. On Line #2, I'd be talking back-up plan with Miami about XB for Bour. On Line #3, I'd be talking with Detriot about a certain Defensive - capable SS. On Line #4, I'd have our very own StephenCurry on the line because I'd need some celebratory head after the deals were done and I hear he's real good at that.
  6. We'll probably face CC one more time this year. A game where I hope he comes out wishing we'd have bunted more.
  7. made an awesome diving JBj/Betts-esque catch the other night. I think he's learning....
  8. Shiny hood ornament that could lead to many shiny championship rings and trophies. Look, I get it, it's a virtual pipe dream considering the cost and where this team is at with their budget and dwindling farm system. But this is fun.... Forget trading Hanley, he's fine at 1B. Forget trading Price or Castillo, they'd be non-starters. I'd start with XB and trade everyone practically not named Groome out of our farm. Probably. How 'bout: Xander, Chavis, Travis, 1 of Mata, Houck, Beeks and see what Miami had to say. It'd probably be a "no". I'm not delusional, but that's what I'd start with for an initial conversation. Then throw in Swihart and another 2 of our top 21.
  9. Damnit. I was really hoping for the latter. You right, you right.
  10. That would be funny. Irrelevant, but funny.
  11. Well, that's settled then lol
  12. f***in' A right. You said it brother...
  13. Batting Lead-off for 2/3 of the season didn't help the game come to him, he's had to force things to try and make stuff happen and set the tone. He's a better hitter when he can lay-off pitches that aren't strikes and leading off takes away some of his game plan. Also, pitchers have adjusted and he rarely gets anything inside anymore. It seems like the outside of the plate is his strike zone now and the umpires haven't helped much either with borderline bs calls forcing him to swing at pitches I've never seen him try to swing at. He hasn't lead-off for over a week plus now so I can see him improving. The one good thing out of all of this is that Mookie does really well the more he faces a pitcher and racking up the most plate appearances should help him over the course of the season and these last 40 games or so.... and the play-offs (hopefully).
  14. .... because of .... John Farrell? That's my educated guess.
  15. I've been a Beni fanboy since he was in Single A and even I don't want him as our CF. I'd put Mookie in CF before I put Beni. JBJ is a must sign to me. A lot of us just wanted JBJ to hit .250 (some of us .240 even) and play the defense he's capable of playing. This season he's batting .250 off RH SP and .278 off LH SP. He seems to do better in away games than home games. I'm looking for JBJ to have a good end of August and better Sept. which he's done before. I also don't want to hear all the crying when/if we don't have his defense anymore and he's playing for another team. i hope we can extend him to something reasonable when the time comes.
  16. LOL Just a thought. He is a rookie after all.
  17. JBJ's 95.8 MPH assist in the 2nd inning to get Carpenter at home plate was spectacular and proved key to a win. A lot of guys would've slowed up so the ball wouldn't get past and play it safe or they'd charged it in an attempt to keep the ball in front of them and let it bounce off their body. That was impressive.
  18. I think with the 4 HRs he may be looked on as playing over his head. I'm not expecting that to continue. Take those away and look at his 24 other hits that wern't HRs, he's a career .280 hitter in a good line that gets on base. 13 rbi in 16 games sounds like alot but it really could be simple randomness of an above average hitter put smack into the mix of a good line up that gets on base in a hitter friendly park. The odds are good he'll make something happen just by simply showing up to work. Of course I didn't think a HR masher was needed before the trade deadline. I thought we just needed another good hitter that's not an auto-out. That plus Devers (who could be the one playing over his head btw) we have the best of both worlds. I think the team as a whole, while good hitters, lost some mojo w/ Ortiz gone and they're on their way to getting some of that back and just in time too.
  19. If this season is Betts' floor, can we sign him to a 12 year deal? I'm not really joking on this.
  20. He's been a pretty steady hitter his whole career that can steal a base along w/ slightly below average to average defense but versatile. Is he playing over his head or does his swing simply play well at Fenway? I'd have to think coming just recently from AT&T that ranks 2nd and 1st as a Pitcher's Park as the least amount of runs and home runs respectively, and to now playing in Fenway could help any hitter. You have to remember too, that the Sox lineup before Nunez had trouble scoring, but not too much trouble getting on base. Nunez having a career year being thrown into the mix of a good lineup (in most respects) playing home at a top 5 Hitter's friendly ball park could be a factor as well. I have my doubts Sox can afford him next season too and 8 figres is probably right.
  21. Nunez would essentially take over for Holt (LF too). Dozier would split time between 2B and DH (one year remaining w/ Min helps towards a possible move. It's not likely, just conceivable). I plan on having Bogey here for next season, but I'd listen to offers if they exist. HanRam/Travis @1B.\ (if it doesn't work we make an in-season trade for a 1B). If we could still re-sign Young for half of what he's making to a one year I'd do it. Would Young take less money for next season?
  22. Dozier makes $9M next season, so that plus some prospects? Just an idea
  23. yeah like 2 1/2 years ago. Where you been Larry Cook?
  24. Can't we trade for Brian Dozier (FA 2019) over the winter ( have him and Pedey and XB split time Dh-ing ) and not sign a 1B-man? Have HanRam/Travis for 1B. Lose Moreland and Young and resign Nunez.... Oh... Mods should move this post to Realistic Part 4 when it comes out:D thanx
  25. ehh, we still won the series.
