  1. For multiple reasons, our Infield defense isn't spectacular (except at catcher). But our Outfield defense is. Which, to me, is even more reason to keep the status quo with the OF. At least we have that going for us.
  2. It doesn't have to go by state. It could go by the law enforcement agency itself. And their policies may differ.
  3. Think I'd rather go after Ozuna if we're trading prospects.
  4. It's called 'Mandatory Arrest Policy'. I'm sure it ultimately comes down to the assessment of the police officers at the scene.
  5. Well, I’m going by the lone article in my news feed about it. I haven’t seen anything else as of yet. There are certain laws that if the police are called, someone HAS to be arrested no matter what happened. It’s not that cut and dry is what I wanted to point out. If it turns out he’s guilty of ACTUAL abuse, then I’d be fine with letting him go.
  6. No. Exactly. ... I mean yes.
  7. Domestic abuse with zero domestic violence. I’d like to know more. It sounds like he got arrested over a shouting match. I guess he could’ve threatened somebody? Ehh, I’d need to know more about it is all I’m saying.
  8. My opinion? I'd severely hate that trade. I hope that it's just a rumor DD putout there to throw off other teams. 'cause that trade would suck.
  9. It's pretty un-arguable when you put it that way.
  10. Kinda glad we didn't get into a prospect bidding war with the Yanks (or any other team for that matter) over Stanton. I liked Stanton a lot, but I wanted him 2 years before he signed that extension. I'm slowly catching back up with all the posts (been spending my free time watching the Celtics and ... Mr. Robot). What's the general consensus on what the Yanks gave up to get Stanton? Was it about right? Not enough?. I heard other teams offered more.
  11. Yeh, I'm of similar opinion. I don't want to trade JBJ if we don't have to. JD seems like a great fit at DH and 4th OF. I'd try and sign Lynn because I'd like another SP. So, get Jd and Lynn and call it an off-season. To me this would be the easiest path to me feeling good about our chances to compete next year.
  12. Yawns... sips coffee.. Sooooo, Is Miami done dealing? By that I mean, is Marcell Ozuna available?
  13. I haven’t thought of Machado. It might be a good solution for a big bat and better left side defense and like you said, no prospects given up. I like that idea. I personally like Votto or Stanton better (if available of course... that goes w/out saying), but I’m keeping an open mind. Was also hoping to save a FA signing for another SP... like Lynn. I’ve heard Votto likes Cincy and doesn’t want to leave, but jesus man... he’s rotting away there. There’s something very noble about wanting to stay, but... As far as prospects, i think there is enough to pry Stanton or Votto away plus you have to consider thier salary off thier respective team’s books. There’s always a deal to be made and the ‘DD’ stands for ‘Dudley Do-Right’ ... so he always gets his man. Umm., Right?
  14. This is where I’m at too
  15. I agree. I would also suggest Votto. How long does he need to rot away in Cin? Are the Braves competing or are they still rebuilding? Is Freeman available? I’ll start w/ Bogey...
  16. I haven’t read past page one yet, but right off the get go I would focus on major pieces, not complimentary pieces (like a 4th OFer for example). DD has been very good at acquiring pieces we need at the deadlines (even w/ Nunez’s injury, which wasn’t foreseeable). Fill them in as we need to. I agree we need a big bat (a Stanton, or a Votto). I agree that we aren’t a big offense team. I do think we are close to one though. One player, like the ones mentioned above, could bring this offense back to where it was. One player. Not 2 4th OFers and 3 Utility players. We may need two big acquisitions (a big bat through trade, & a #2/#3 SP via FA).
  17. Wow Devers!!! This is f***in’ crazy lol
  18. One run should not be looked at as insurmountable bottom of the 9th. If it indeed stays a 1 run lead after top 9th that is.
  19. It’s still ok. We got last outs and this is more our way of playing.
  20. Jesus christ this umpire sucks.
  21. That would be fine with me. That way, if we lose game 4, I can always say the rain out ruined our momentum. Perfect.
  22. The air may be lighter, but the rain is heavier, no?
  23. “Let's hope for rain so we dont have to have him pitch.” And now the other hand makes a good point. Lol I can’t decide.
  24. “sox should hope it stays damp to try to keep the ball from flying out.” Good point
