  1. This is a big outing for ERod. May the streak continue! Go Sox!
  2. The point stands though. Farrell cannot be blamed for the 'overuse' of Koji when the starters aren't consistently going 6+ innings.
  3. I think we should stock up on BP arms, and we might be okay with our current rotation.
  4. Probably not, but that all depends on the cost of that someone better. I am counting on ERod to be a solid contributor to our rotation next season and beyond. While any of us would love to add the likes of Sale or Quintana, at this point I don't think the team needs to add one. I do think it's a good idea to add someone like Santana for depth and insurance, and I don't think his price is unreasonable.
  5. I never thought that Leon would amount to much offensively, but I was somewhat comforted by his acquisition after the Vazquez injury.
  6. Yes, I remember how much you loved Leon when Ben signed him.
  7. In one of the tweets, Rosenthal said that the White Sox were offered a "king's ransom" for Sale within the last 48 hours and they flat out said no. If a king's ransom won't even get consideration, then Sale is not being moved for any package that we would be willing to part with. I get Moon's desire to build the rotation from the top, but IMO, the top of our rotation looks pretty good. When factoring in cost, adding a non-PED version of someone like Santana makes more sense to me.
  8. Kudos to Wright for doing exactly what the team needed him to do as far as pitching deep into the game. That's huge for the bullpen over the next couple of days.
  9. That is possibly true. I still think he showed maturity in that whole ordeal.
  10. One thing you cannot do is walk the lead off hitter after the team stakes you to an 8-0 lead. IMO, you throw the dude BP if you have to, but you make him hit his way on. At any rate, it's one start. There are any number of reasons why he lost it in the 4th inning. I am hopeful that he'll bounce back.
  11. Raise your hand if you foresaw Leon being our starting catcher by July!
  12. Ben says You're welcome!
  13. I thought he did a good job of it.
  14. Perhaps, but if Dombrowski can make an inexpensive depth move, then I'm all for that. Not for a PED user though.
  15. Couldn't have scripted the HR any better. And to Hanley's credit, he ran the bases and didn't say a word to the pitcher. Hopefully, the Sox winning takes some of the sting off for Pomeranz. We do not need him getting any doubts into his head.
  16. Also, when your starting rotation fails to do its job and get through 6 innings, it puts the manager in a real bind in terms of BP usage.
  17. As Dojji said, it's not as simple as that. At any rate, my post was about being okay with Farrell putting Koji into that game in that particular situation. As I said, he was rested and he was available to pitch. And as we saw last night, a 4 run lead can disappear in the blink of an eye. It was important to nail down the win in the opening game of the home stand. If his body broke down from overuse, it was not due to being put into that game.
  18. The competition might not be that great, but road trips are always tough, especially those to the west coast. That said, it is encouraging that we are not facing any of these teams at their best.
  19. The pitching was terrible, but this was one of the most entertaining games I can remember this season. Hanley's payback HR was awesome, just awesome. Woohoo! Let's hope Pomeranz can bounce back from that start. Not what we were hoping for.
  20. Espinoza for the Fort Wayne TinCaps: 3IP, 7H, 4ER, 2BB, K
  21. You only gained 1/2 a game, but you did leap frog 2 teams in the process. There's a long way to go. I wouldn't give up on your team if I were you. I hate to say it, but I don't think they should mail it in this season. FTR, the Os are really ticking me off, letting you guys hang around.
  22. I would have no problem stashing ERod in AAA if it meant adding some quality depth to the rotation. It may not seem like we need another starter, but if ERod reverts back to his earlier struggles or we have an injury, we're back in the same boat with our #5 pitcher. That said, I had forgotten that Santana was a PEDs user. No thanks. I'd rather have Clay.
  23. Not true at all. That statement really makes no sense. Espinoza for Sale makes sense. Espinoza for Buchholz does not.
  24. Despite the workload from earlier in the season, Koji was rested and available to pitch.
  25. Of course he did. I can almost guarantee you that that would not have happened without Larry's influence.
