  1. Of course Theo was not the the one to come up with this idea. But he knows it's the way to go, unlike some other GMs.
  2. E-rod 0-1/ 4.76 This will be the first start for E-rod since April 13th when he game up 3 runs ( 2 earned) on 4 hits in 5 1/3 innings vs Pitt. He threw a inning of shut out baseball vs the Blue Jays this week. Gausman 1-1/ 7.23 Coming off his worst start of the season and of his career vs the Reds. Looking to bounce back after just one quality start since opening day. Time for these guys to stop messing around. The Os are not that good. Get it done boys! WIN!
  3. Ha ha. Good one.
  4. Errors are far too subjective. You think UZR is subjective? Errors are 100 times worse in terms of subjectivity.
  5. All I'm saying is that it's too soon to give up on him, large contract or not. Price did not start his career in Boston with a target on his back.
  6. They have been terrible. It's a new season though. He might be able to turn it around.
  7. We have no idea of why he has a hard time with his weight.
  8. He deserved it last year, though not the assaults on his character. He has taken last year to heart and worked really hard to get back to where he was. By all accounts, he is a very hard worker. The work may or may not result in on field production, but my goodness, he deserves more than 18 games to find out.
  9. If the bar has been set at serviceable, it's because we have no better options. Can Pablo be better than serviceable? Is Marco better than serviceable? Maybe, maybe not, but I do know that 18 games into the season is way too soon to be making those kinds of determinations.
  10. If we continue to be plagued by injuries and illness, the offense could be a problem. What I'm reading now about Pedroia's knee is a little disconcerting. But if the team stays relatively healthy, then the offense should be fine.
  11. Jason Mastrodonato‏Verified account @JMastrodonato 52m52 minutes ago Farrell still thinks Red Sox power issues aren't a concern. Said it's coincidental. Expected slight drop off without Ortiz but not like this. "Coincidental" is code for 'randomness' for those old school managers.
  12. I completely agree. Thank goodness we're not the Jays.
  13. Let me first make it clear that I hate the Yankees. That said, I am not about to criticize a team that has been built using the Theo Epstein philosophy of building the farm. Do I think the Yankees run this year will continue? No, I don't. But I said before the season that I wouldn't count them out and that I thought they would be competitive this year but fall a little short. So if they do make the playoffs, I would not be shocked. The good news for Yankees fans is that your future looks really bright.
  14. A voice of reason.
  15. Everyone's favorite whipping boy, Pablo Sandoval.
  16. Pablo is so misunderstood.
  17. Not concerned about the bullpen either. I've said many times, I believe this team is playoff bound and doesn't have any true areas of weakness. If the pen does become a problem, that is the easiest area to improve during the season.
  18. It was a bad signing. That doesn't change the fact that he's on the team and it's in the team's best interest to give him a fair shot and hope he does well. I understand why people like Hernandez, but I really don't get why people are in such a hurry to throw Pablo off the team. June sounds reasonable, I guess.
  19. They've been frustrating at times, but I am not the least bit concerned about our offense.
  20. I don't have the exact numbers, but up until the last 2 games, I believe the Sox were first in BA with RISP with a .335 or something like that. In the last 2 games we've gone 1-12 to drop that BA down to .303. The offense will be fine.
  21. It seems like we have face some very good starting pitching. And if I'm not mistaken, we have had our starting line up together in one game all season.
  22. A voice of reason.
  23. The offense has been frustrating to watch, but they will come around. The only reason that we're 3 games back is because the Os and the Yanks are playing over their heads right now.
  24. Nothing. I just can't stand his micromanaging.
