I can't think of any other candidates, but there are plenty of options available that won't cost a fortune. The task is to find the Brasiers and the Okajimas of the world.
Is there a reason why the Sox medical staff wouldn't use the intra-articular contrast? I'm thinking that if the Sox or Sale had any concerns about his shoulder, they would go 100% with the testing to make sure.
Given the choice of one or the other, I'd take Devers also. But to me, it wasn't necessarily and either/or thing with Moncada and Devers. Wouldn't it be nice to have both?
Clearing money for the bullpen while creating holes elsewhere doesn't make a whole lot of sense.
I would not be happy if any of those players is traded so that we can sign a reliever.
I am actually good with Mookie hitting leadoff.
I would not be upset if he's moved to the 2nd spot.
I would be upset if he's moved to the 3rd spot.
Not that it makes that big of a difference. It's the principle.
I am really interested to see how Dombrowski and Henry handle things next offseason. It would be nice to have Moncada back, but that championship flag will fly forever.
IMO, the only thing Dombrowski needs to do is strengthen the BP and add some minor league depth pieces. The position players, including catcher, are set, as is the rotation. Don't go messing with things just to make a change. We're good to go as is.
