  1. Will Chavis be the recipient of the ST Award (whose name escapes me at the moment) this year?
  2. My apologies to you for promising that Dombrowski would sign a closer that you would be happy with. I was sure that he would sign a big name closer because that's what he does. Obviously, I was wrong. On the bright side, Dombrowski has earned some brownie points with me this offseason. Go Dave! I know that matters not to you, but believe me, Dombrowski is sleeping better at night knowing this.
  3. The 2002 Sox were a very good team, but an unlucky team. It wasn't the number of blowout wins that was inordinate, but rather the number of one run losses. According to Pythagoras, with whom I agree, the Sox should have won the division by one game.
  4. I am with you 100% on this Moon. Maybe his teammates don't consider him to be a cancer, but he is not setting a good example for all the young players that will be looking up to him, especially those on his team. IMO, he's a punk. I'm glad that he is not on the Red Sox.
  5. You can pick this linup out of a hat! ^^Truth. I've been saying this for years.
  6. That's okay. They were also obviously the 2018 WS Champs. Until they weren't.
  7. The Rays are going to make some noise this year. I think they'll be the second wild card team, behind the Yankees.
  8. That was a thing of beauty.
  9. So shocking and very sad. RIP Nick.
  10. Plus, he worked with JD for a good bit of the offseason. He should be on an upward trend.
  11. You have posted that before, and I may be wrong, but I think Vaz does call his own pitches.
  12. I don't follow the Padres that closely, but my understanding is that they will be ready to contend in about 3-4 years.
  13. No, but it's a good rule to play by.
  14. I wanted Lester back for a Homer Bailey type deal, which I think he would have signed had he not been low balled. I did not think it was a good idea for the Sox to match or top the Cubs' offer.
  15. I agree, there is no reason to bother. If he stays healthy this year, he will get a massive contract from somebody.
  16. I would draw the line at 4 years for Sale. I'm afraid that the Sox are going to overcompensate for the mistake they made with Lester and go too big with an extension for Sale.
  17. And yet, I'm pretty sure that Vazquez got the nod over Leon in the postseason because the Sox liked what they saw with Vaz' game calling.
  18. The more Jacko goes on about how great the Yankees are, the better Red Sox fans should feel. We got this in the bag.
  19. From where I stand, it is completely the other way around.
  20. As of the moment I am posting this, they are 79-83.
  21. Dang, just when I started to have some faith in GMs not signing players to these crazy contracts. All I can think is stupid, stupid, stupid.
  22. In case anyone missed it, Henry finally admitted that the Sox messed up big time with Lester.
  23. When we are talking about 6+ year extensions for 30+ year old pitchers, I shudder.
  24. IMO, he will be too expensive for the Sox to keep. Also IMO, he is a far greater injury risk than Price was as the time of his signing.
  25. Speculation is that Harper is sure to get more than the $300 million offered to him by the Nats before the offseason.
