My bad, I must have read "at the time" in another post. Either way, "at the time" is implied because he is talking about a certain year in the past.

The internal promotions, along with the retaining of Cora seem to point in that direction. Also, I'm reading that outsiders might be of the opinion that the Red Sox are not the best team to work for, so it might be difficult to bring somebody in. As far as this year's big winner goes, it is time for the "Anyone but the Yankees" mantra.

All signs point to the next GM being promoted from within. Don't know who that would be, but that's the word on the street.

Congrats to Yankees fans for winning the division. I guess I have to concede my back to back to back to back prediction. LOL But spare me the "back where it belongs" BS. Also, enjoy the division crown, as it might be the only crown you guys will be wearing this year.

I would not have done that deal, but in fairness to Kimbrel, we don't know what might have happened if he were signed during the offseason and went through normal spring training with most of the other pitchers. In other words, sitting out until midseason might be a big factor in why he's been injured and pitching so poorly. On a side note, thank goodness I'm not a Cubs fan. The series sweep to the rival Cards this past weekend would have done me in.

Game thread MOJO failed miserably this season because you guys have been screwing it up all season long. Forget blaming Dombrowski, Cora, or even the pitchers for our lousy season. I blame the game threaders.

I have been reading more and more about Dombrowski's management style, going back to his days in Detroit. He apparently doesn't foster a team culture in the FO.
