  1. It is!
  2. I don't think it's that far of a long shot that all 3 will pitch better than they did this season. As far as ERod is concerned, I think he will regress a bit.
  3. I get the idea of getting a better long term deal the following winter, but Porcello did also say that he would love to stay in Boston. In fact, he approached the FO early in the season with the idea that he was willing to take a discount to stay.
  4. You can trust me or not, it's a FACT.
  5. Many of us said from day one that the Yankees rotation would be their downfall, then Cashman goes out and gets some more offense. LOL It's not over for the Yankees yet, and I'm not going to count them out until they're out, but if the Yankees get knocked out, I predict an overreaction on acquiring starting pitching from the Yankees this offseason.
  6. I usually don't waste my time reading him.
  7. LOL FTR, I am 100% opposed to robot umps.
  8. I don't disagree. Or even bunt now and then. I know that the opposition would love to see some of the lefty power hitters drop down a bunt for a single, rather than hit a home run, but if the lefties did it often enough, they would eventually see a decrease in the shifting.
  9. Trust me when I say that stat geeks do not ignore the human element of the game.
  10. OK, but what happened to the Yankees momentum after winning the first 3 games of the ALCS, the 3rd one in rather grand fashion?
  11. I think it was good that we swept the Cards. I don't think I could have handled a series with any more drama or pressure in it after the ALCS. LOL
  12. Yes, it might be wishful thinking. Maybe he really wants to stay in Boston? One can hope.
  13. Yes, I am optimistic that our 3 starting pitchers will have better years, and that they will be healthier than they were this year. I do agree that without them, our team will not be very competitive in 2020, but I think they will all rebound. Good luck with your softball league. I remain very impressed that you're still playing. Good for you!
  14. Doesn't have to be.
  15. The 'Yankee' method is actually the Theo method. Cashman took a page out of Theo's book.
  16. 100% agree Dewey.
  17. Good riddance.
  18. And yet, we all want to give Mookie and open checkbook. Yes, I understand Mookie is younger. But still. Don't do it.
  19. Agreed. Tip of the cap to CC.
  20. The thing about the pen depth is that no matter how good, you cannot expect the pen to pitch 5+ innings regularly. They get overworked and exposed.
  21. Ottavino was never that good. He way out pitched his peripherals. It was a matter of time before he came back down to earth.
  22. Yes, and I think that goes along with the ego thing. I do understand that you don't want to be insulted with a lowball offer, but I also think that there are things more important than earning the most money that you can.
  23. Maybe, maybe not. I know it's a goal, but I'm not convinced that they are committed to that yet.
  24. I am just not a fan of either Chapman or Betances, probably because they're both Yankees. LOL Also, I think they would both be too expensive. Unless we're getting to the point where our bullpens are going to considerably overtake the starting pitcher's role, I don't agree with spending big buck on relievers.
