  1. You have accomplished the near impossible Bell. Good job.
  2. Perez pitched very well. That should be acknowledged, despite the loss.
  3. Apparently not. It's very fitting that in the first game after trading 2 of our best relievers, the pen blows the lead twice and takes the loss. LOL
  4. Thank you Thunder. It's good to be back.
  5. Let me add that while the Yankees have as good a chance as any other team to win the WS, they are far from being the best team in baseball. {Didn't want to come across as being too magnanimous.}
  6. There are some really fun teams to watch this year, besides the Red Sox, I mean. LOL The Padres come to mind first and foremost. I haven't watched a whole lot of them, but from what I've seen, they are having a great time. Orsillo announcing their games is an added bonus.
  7. If I had to pick one metric by which to evaluate a player, it would definitely be WAR. Not all stats are created equal. IMO, there are several single stats better than ERA.
  8. I also very much doubt Bloom is done. It will be hard for me to see some of our players get traded, but I understand it's a necessary thing to do.
  9. Thank you. ❤️
  10. It does stink to see both Workman and Hembree go. I thought it was really cool that they both waited until after the game to leave so that they could say goodbye to their teammates. I appreciate what they both did in helping the Red Sox win WS Championships, and I wish them both the best in Philly.
  11. We have one of the best shortstops in the game at a very reasonable price. Unless we are blown away with an offer for Bogaerts, it makes little sense to trade him.
  12. It's interesting that the Yankees have played 14 of their 25 games against the Rays and the Sox. The Yankees will make the playoffs. Once there, anything can happen. So yes, they have as good a chance as any other team to win it all.
  13. Crack medical staff? Seriously though, the number of injuries that they have had the past couple of years is crazy.
  14. I missed you guys! It's nice to have some actual baseball to talk about.
  15. 100%. It is worth pointing out, in case it hasn't already been pointed out, that the Yankees are a mere .500 in games against teams not named the Red Sox. Their pitching has not been great. They are not the juggernaut that Yankees fans like to think that they are.
  16. The Os announcers had a good time pointing out that Josh Osich's name is a tongue twister. Try saying it 3 times fast. LOL Speaking of the Os announcers, Gary Thorne is not broadcasting games this season. It has been so much more tolerable listening to Os games on the MASN feed this year.
  17. A couple of days ago, Roenicke said "it will be a while." Don't expect Beni back any time soon.
  18. As bad as things look for our beloved team, don't ever give up hope. Play hard and see what happens. It's amazing how different the team looks when Devers, JD, and Bogaerts are hitting as expected.
  19. It's not dumb, per se. To judge by ERA alone is dumb.
  20. I am hearing some people criticizing this move, saying that we got crap in return for 2 pretty good relievers. IMO, these people are failing to realize or understand a few things. 1. What were they expecting to get back in return for Workman and Hembree, one of whom is a free agent at the end of the year, the other of whom is a free agent after next year? A Shane Bieber type pitcher was not walking through our door. Workman might be good, but he is not going to repeat last year's performance. Hembree is good, and often doesn't get the credit he deserves, but as a good reliever with 1 year of control, his value isn't that high. In his best season, he was worth 0.5 fWAR. 2. By all accounts, Pivetta has very good stuff but just hasn't been able to get the results. This is the type of pitcher who seems to be right up Bloom's alley. I think Bloom feels like he can get the results out of Pivetta that have been lacking so far. I'm not talking about Pivetta being an ace, but hopefully he'll be a solid middle of the rotation pitcher. Ditto Seabold. 3. The number of cost-controlled years. That alone makes this trade a good value. We are getting a combined 9-10 years of control in return for 1 year of control. Bloom did well in getting two pitchers who can help us next year and in the future. This trade is not a steal, by any means. But it is a very good, solid trade.
  21. Yeszir, if you are listening, please clean this site up. It has gone to the crapper.
  22. Dodgers runs/game = 8.5 Red Sox runs/game = 13 Just sayin...
  23. By all accounts, Graterol projects to be a reliever, not a starter. It's too soon to know, but if that's the case, then the Sox are much better off with the package that they got.
  24. Machado's and Harper's contracts are both insane. An offer of $310 mil for 10 years was more than reasonable. A counter of $420 mil was completely unreasonable. This was all about Mookie's ego.
