  1. Panic Level = .5
  2. You're breaking my heart Bell.
  3. That's a hard no from me. Two year deal, max.
  4. We knew it was coming, but it's still a bummer. Pedroia was a great player, a great leader, and a great teammate, despite what some people think. It's sad that his career ended the way it did, but it sounds like he's in a good place. I wish him the best.
  5. Thanks Ben!
  6. Better the Jays than the Yanks.
  7. No kidding! I'm going to have to start carefully proofreading every post. I would be mortified if I sent out any work emails with these types of mistakes. LOL
  8. My kind of post.
  9. Most evaluators of this trade feel that Ben did a good job.
  10. This is my kind of relief pitching signing.
  11. I could live with that. For all we know, Bloom has another trade in the works that is on no one's radar.
  12. Yeah, it doesn't really matter one way or the other. I just had to share my double typo fiasco because I thought I was doing such a good job of fixing the first one.
  13. FTR, I am 100% against signing Bauer to a long term deal (5+ years). His age is not a plus.
  14. I hope he's lights out and then gets the last out in the ALCS against the Yankees.
  15. Take a look at Ottavino's peripherals. He pitched much better in 2020 than his ERA indicates. At the same time, he didn't pitch as well in 2019 as his ERA indicates. Is it reasonable to think Ottavino could be a mid 3 ERA pitcher? Is it reasonable to think he could be worth 1 WAR? Yes, to both questions, meaning that Ottavino would be worth the $8 mil whether we get any prospects back for him or not. And that doesn't even count German.
  16. Hmm. I knew that. I can tell you exactly what happened. I initially typed .374 by mistake. Then I went back and corrected the 4 to a 5. Or so I thought. Apparently, I put the 5 in the wrong spot.
  17. Didn't I read that the Yankees were afraid they were over the tax limit and traded Ottavino in order to get back under? Who says they have enough money to make a midseason acquisition? At any rate, Bloom said it best. You can't play scared. We (Bloom and I) aren't afraid of the Yankees. Yes, we helped the Yankees out. The Yankees also helped the Sox out. Your Yankee bias is keeping you from seeing that.
  18. Being in a tough spot is what makes his moves even better. Someone brought up the point that Bloom could go over the tax limit to start the season. If the team is in contention, he could add more before the deadline. If the team is out of it, he could make some trades to dump some payroll and get back under the tax limit before the penalty kicks in.
  19. This may be my all time favorite post of yours.
  20. As I posted before, this is a good get for the Yankees. But to post thing like this is a steal for Cashman is silly.
  21. They might not need Taillon to throw a pitch. On the other hand, the rest of their staff behind Cole are far from guaranteed. That's cool if you see it as zero risk. I don't.
  22. Thank you.
  23. Yes, everything is potential in January. The Sox have a potentially very good rotation, just like the Yankees. Stay tuned.
