  1. That could have been a lot worse. Of course, it could have been a lot better if Bailey was never brought in to begin with. But you get the idea.
  2. This is f***ing ridiculous. Why was Bailey brought in to a one run game?
  3. I see shots taken at Jackso because he's nowhere to be found when the Yankees are losing but then when the Red Sox lose he logs on to say "booyah!" in the game thread. But I don't see a whole lot of shots taken at him that aren't related to something he's said or done. And I find that often times when I do try to discuss baseball in here, like yesterday when I asked why the Yankees released Chien-Ming Wang, those types of questions or observations are skipped over.
  4. I don't see how me pointing out xFIP twice in May is related to trolling. That in my mind is good baseball discussion. As RedSoxFanforLife pointed out, the trolling in this thread is almost always a direct response to Jackso trolling in the Red Sox game thread. If you want Red Sox fans to stop saying "Booyah!" when the Yankees lose, you should probably talk to the person they're responding to when they say it.
  5. Seems strange to make a personal argument about me being inconsistent if you want to return this thread to baseball. I can't speak for other posters, but I make fun of Jackso because he makes ridiculous claims with nothing to back them up like "The Red Sox will be a .500 team by the All-Star Break", and logs on to the site for no other reason than to go in Red Sox game threads and say "Booyah!" or "Bet you wish you had Paps now!" when the Red Sox lose. Those aren't baseball discussions, that's trolling. So when his baseless predictions blow up in his face, or the Yankees blow a game I occasionally come in here to and throw those predictions and trolling back in his face.
  6. I pointed out the Red Sox advanced pitching statistics twice all year, both times were direct responses to Jackso claiming the Red Sox were lucky to be playing well. I haven't brought up any of the advanced statistics since May 14th, because that's the last time Jackso tried to claim the Red Sox were playing well because of luck. I think you're really going out on a limb here. The only thing that would be inconsistent would be if I started coming in to the thread unsolicited and pointing out the statistics in response to no one claiming the Red Sox were getting lucky. That would also be trollish for me to do about a third place team.
  7. I made an argument, more than once, that the Red Sox were pitching better than the Yankees and playing better defense. And it was a direct response to Jackso was claiming the Yankees would run away with the division then they got their hitters back. Nowhere did I say they were going to pitch better than the Yankees the entire year. If I've been inconsistent, then quote where it happened.
  8. Purposes of credibility? The only reason I brought the statistics up in the first place was because someone was repeatedly claiming the Red Sox offense was inflated by BABIP and the Yankees pitching was much better. It would be trollish if someone was no longer making those claims I came in here anyways to point out that advanced statistics still favor the Red Sox.
  9. The statistical comparisons have stopped because a certain someone stopped claiming the Red Sox were peaking and would be at .500 by the All-Star Break and the Yankees were going to run away with the division. Why would I go in to a thread about a third place team to rub salt in the wound with statistical comparisons? There's no debate about who the better team is.
  10. Baltimore's down 9 runs in the third inning. Like I said, just pitching well against us isn't going to win them the division.
  11. Toronto's beating Baltimore 9-0 in the third inning. Anyone still think Baltimore's pitching is "for real" because they had a good series against us?
  12. http://msn.foxsports.com/mlb/story/biogenesis-PED-suspensions-could-be-announced-before-appeals-ryan-braun-alex-rodriguez-melky-cabrera-062213
  13. Webster looks like John Cusack in 8 men out. http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-AOkMcJW65JQ/TZV0Z_H-nGI/AAAAAAAAAII/22IPeXi35SY/s1600/cusack+eight+men+out.jpg
  14. Big start for Webster, he might be here longer than expected. Buchholz wasn't able to pitch a bullpen today and Lester's hellbent on pitching like s***.
  15. The Blue Jays have now won 10 in a row. They beat the O's so we have a chance to pad our division lead.
  16. Anyone want Wang now?
  17. Why did the Yankees release Chien-Ming Wang? He had a 2.33 ERA, 1.16 WHIP at Triple-A and he now has a 2.61 ERA at he major league level after shutting down the Rangers and O's in consecutive starts.
  18. Chien-Ming Wang's starting for the Blue Jays against the Orioles, and he's up 1-0. This has been a really interesting series, it has quite a few implications for how the division might shape up.
  19. Thanks professor.
  20. I seem to remember an interview with Bradley after he was called up for the second time and he was actually hitting, in which he discussed having changed his approach. He used to be a guess hitter who would study pitcher habits and look for a certain pitch in a certain situation. But then he found that pitchers would change their habits at the major league level and he'd look silly. He then discussed becoming more of a see the ball, hit the ball hitter who adjusted to the type of pitch out of the pitcher's hand. And he appeared to be hitting much better with that approach. There's more than one way to skin a cat.
  21. Booyah! Blue Jays walk off on Matusz, Orioles now 1.5 games back.
  22. The Blue Jays walk off against the O's! Somone should make an Orioles game thread since they're our best competition in the division.
  23. Inaccuracies like the Red Sox offense being inflated by BABIP, the Red Sox peaking in April and being a .500 team by the All-Star Break, the Yankees injured players coming back from injuries and immediately turning the team in to world beaters, or Ball not signing for under slot? You're the king of inaccuracies. No one actually cares if/when you're moving, learn to take a joke.
  24. These new age fans are so sensitive.
  25. No, yo compered im. I would neer compere the too.
