Firs he trade Hanley Ramirz for Josh BEER GUT Becks and Mikey Goatee Old Man. Den he trades FUTURE hall of fame bearder Josh Reddick for poop. That poop gets hurt. Den he trada the Melancons, Melancons poop. Then he trada the Melanco for da Hanraram. Get it? He's no Han-Ram! Melancon turns in to da MARIANO RIVERA HIGHWAY and Hanraram get hurt and not do s***.

I was actually listening to that game while I was reading resumes, and you're absolutely right. The Yankees radio guys were hypersensitive about the Yankees not hitting home runs, as if that was their problem. I wonder if that's the kind of mentality the ownership has considering they trust traded for Soriano when they should be selling.
To be honest, I don't think the second wild card has affected the market that much this year. There aren't too many teams who are close in the second wild card and aren't close in their division and hence would probably not sell even if there wasn't a second wild card.
No it's not. Teams just don't trade players early unless they're blown away with an offer. Once it's the actual deadline, they'll take whatever they can get because the alternative is to get nothing.

Buster Olney just said on TV that only players who violated the PED policy for the first time are allowed to play through the appeals process. I wonder what they means for players that MLB is trying to argue has violated the PED process multiple times.
