  1. In the end, its not our job to assess talent, is it.
  2. Mark this road trip. This is the trip that put the final touches on our chances for the year.
  3. I was one. I thought it was a good idea. I am still not totally convinced Gonzalez is an addition to the long list of Theo's mistakes. One more year of this and its cinched. And here comes the walkoff loss............
  4. You already know. Admit it. Come over to the Dark Side.
  5. It is fair. We save the money we spent on Gonzalez and we could have kept Drew as a backup OF and signed someone cheaper and better than Gonzalez for some other position.
  6. Like I said earlier, we have no problem spending money. Its spending it wisely that is the issue. Look at all the stiffs Theo brought in. Its a pathetic list of bottom feeders.
  7. Totally overpaid. Coulda had JD back for a lot less money. And Drew is faster.
  8. I am not admitting it because it is not true. I know exactly where we are in the standings. A few weeks ago my threshold was 10 GB; its later now. Nine and we are out of it. In a few weeks its down to 8.
  9. Like I said, one more if we lose this one. Not yet, but on the precipice again.
  10. Then they should have traded Youkilis for a Buchholz bobblehead. That would have been more useful than Lillibitch and a lot cheaper.
  11. We cannot afford to lose this game. We get nine behind the Yankees in the lost column and that would be enough for me to throw in the towel in terms of getting anywhere in the playoffs if we even get into them at all. Just keeping it real.
  12. You are really going to judge his imprint on this team after two months in the ML? You are smarter than that.
  13. That is exactly my point. We have no one to pitch in a one game playoff who really stands much of a chance of beating the other team's top SP. Who do we have to go up against Price or Weaver or Verlander? No one.
  14. All I said is that Punto stinks. Having him up with the bases loaded is as close to an automatic out as there is. I know now why he is in there, but that doesn't change the fact that he should not be on this roster at all.
  15. Fewer and fewer people are deluded. A lot of people here know what is wrong with this team, and more are realizing that its not our year. Again.
  16. If we get nine behind the Yankees we have no chance of catching them. The Angels will get one wild card spot if they don't overtake the Rangers because they are the best of the WC candidates. The other teams that are better than we are are the Orioles and the Rays; the Tigers may also beat us out. We lose this and lose one more in the lost column to the Yankees and we really ought to sell the house at the trading deadline.
  17. Ortiz is up there saying how great the Mariners' pitching is....they are NINTH in ERA. They suck. Our offense sucks more, apparently, especially with this lineup. We are getting shut out.....AGAIN. One more game behind the Yankees, if we lose this, and its time to throw in the towel.
  18. Punto makes outs. Sometimes they are hard outs, sometimes they are soft outs. He is hitting .197/.595. He sucks. Him up there in any situation is as close to an automatic out as there is.
  19. As much as you would like to believe that, its way too early to tell either way. So far, overall, I like what I have seen.
