I know how you feel. There were stretches that I thought that the best thing for the team was to lose game too. The end of last year was an example. I think that in the long run that choke job was for the best. Had we made the playoffs Epstein and Francona would still be here, and fans would not be voting with their feet this year. We were never going to be able to compete for a ring last year; we would have exited in round 1, most likely, anyway. Now everyone can see that the King has no clothes.
Its too early this year to wish for losses IMO. If we manage to pry Garza loose from the Cubs, get rid of some deadwood like Youkilis, Byrd, McDonald, Punto, Podsednik, Morales and maybe a few others we could still compete for the playoffs, albeit not a ring. If its getting close to the end of the season and our FO has done nothing to correct our pitching by then, I will be rooting for losses too. If the FO does not see the problem by then, we must not make the playoffs because to do so would provide them with an excuse. And there are no more excuses.
