  1. Good game thread today, despite the loss. In fact, they are all good. Right Jung?
  2. I would say that if we cannot upgrade our pitching we will finish worse than last year, which is below 9th in the AL. That will translate into no playoffs for the third year in a row. Unacceptable, at best.
  3. I actually still read newspapers. A movie reviewer for the SF Chronicle, Mick LaSalle, dissed it. Guess I only read one review. I would not let that stop me from seeing it though.
  4. Saw some reviews. They were all bad. Sorry.
  5. Not bad. I can live with that. f***You Kilis I like it. What do you think of Pedroia's nickname, "Mighty Mouth"?
  6. Four after tonite. Why is that?
  7. I guess that all depends on what you consider a #1. Whatever that definition is, why don't we have one of those?
  8. I realize that. Its still not good enough. We are still in last place. Why is that?
  9. The next two days they have Gonzalez and Zimmerman going. Their ERAs are 2.31 and 2.82 respectively. Seems they have THREE #1s. We have none.
  10. We aren't getting any more runs against Strasburg. Very impressive pitcher.
  11. Over now Jung? Five run lead now...against the best pitching in baseball. Fact is, the season is now 35.8% over and our pitching still stinks. Irrational exuberance about this team is illogical.
  12. My only agenda is wanting to win every game. Thats it. And if we can't do that, then win as many as possible. This team isn't going to win many at all, not with our pitching.
  13. Rays up 3-1, Yankees 6-0. The good news is that we won't lose any ground to the Orioles tonite who are behind by 5 to the Phillies. Not that it really matters.
  14. Its not an unreasonable opinion Jung. The Nats are #1 in all of baseball in ERA. And they have a four run lead. Even when Strasburg leaves I am sure they have a very good bullpen. Good pitching shuts down good hitting. Its mathmatically possible for us to win, but highly unlikely. Now we have to win the next two games to win the series, and they have more great starting pitching to throw at us, guys with ERAs below 3. This team is in serious trouble if you had hoped for October baseball from it. I cannot see that happening.
  15. We aren't getting even a single more run against this guy. This one was over when it was 4-2.
  16. The injured guys, with the exception of Bailey, aren't pitchers. We routinely surrender many many runs. Thats what happens when your pitching stinks. You score, but your pitching allows even more than you just scored. We are a mediocre ball club and will likely remain mediocre all season long, despite the fact that other clubs are now close to us in the standings. We are still in LAST PLACE and have been there nearly all year. Thats where we deserve to be. We are the WORST team in the ALE.
  17. Whatever happened to our new conditioning program?
  18. We will be right around .500 all year long. This team defines mediocrity. Meanwhile, we are going to get our asses kicked over the next few weeks as the level of competition heats up. Good pitching will shut us down, and if we can't get at least 7 runs, we lose, usually.
