  1. DMac's days with this club are numbered. Crawford will be back in a few weeks, followed in another few weeks by Ellsbury, hopefully. Time for DMac to dust off his resume.
  2. Do you think it might be more than coincidence that Gonzalez, Youkilis, Beckett, Lester, Pedroia, Aviles etc are ALL not playing to their career averages? Many of those guys have been in the media with quotes that do not project a happy clubhouse. There are exceptions: Ortiz is one. He talks a lot but is producing. To me it seems more than chance that those who are doing most of the talking are the ones who are underproducing the most noticeably.
  3. I don't think that even the FO can deny that now. He is being asked to throw only 1-2 innings at a time. Sounds like a reliever to me. The question is not SP vs RP. Its RP vs oblivion.
  4. No coincidence that all of the players you listed have underperformed this year. Instead of getting grumpy and making unhelpful quotes to the media they ought to look in the mirror and see if they like what they see there.
  5. So lets see, according to you we are not 33-33 because of chemistry. What's your explanation then? Don't waste your time with the injury excuse; every team has injuries.
  6. Franklin Morales stats since April 23: ERA: 2.00 OPSa: .615 BAA: .212 K/BB: 15/5 BABIP: .245 Opening day to April 21: ERA: 6.35 OPSa: .741 BAA: .304 I think that many of us have been overly harsh on Morales, including me. The statistics show that he has actually been a stalwart in the pen since April 21. These stats do not include today's game in which he was charged with two runs in five innings but was really responsible for one (Pedroia dropped a pop fly that hit him in the glove, and it was the outfielder's ball anyway). Pretty impressive.
  7. As I recall, he has been pitching well lately in multiple inning outings. Haven't checked the stats. Still, pitching this well is eye opening.
  8. Or hurt. Good win, as wins come. Ugly, but good. Can't believe how well Morales did out there. Earned another start IMO.
  9. Cubs excel at playing Red Sox baseball. Gotta split for the sunset run. Enjoy the rest of the game.
  10. I stand corrected. Thanks. I admit that I am not the best source of information for this kind of thing. It seemed that Aviles' momentum would be the deciding factor, but apparently that is not the case.
  11. Thanks. Learned something.
  12. THANKS! AND THERE IS NO NEED TO SHOUT. Guess I was wrong about it. Not the first time.
  13. Thanks for playing nicely. I played some baseball, but not past HS. I am not the best source for advice on fundamental baseball, but I am willing to learn. On that play Aviles' momentum was towards first base. Why was Pedroia on second base when he had his momentum going away from first base. Just asking.
  14. Well he got the "E"; he dropped the ball. Seems like it would have been easier for him to complete the DP than Pedroia because his momentum was toward first base.
  15. Once Albers got the ball it would be an easier play for Aviles to cover second for the DP. Pedroia would have had to pivot to make it.
  16. More sloppy baseball. Unbelievable. Thats Aviles' play. Pedroia blows it again.
  17. Not his fault. Neither was one of the runs Morales gave up.
  18. More sloppy baseball. This is getting pathetic. The Red Sox do not deserve to win this game, not the way they are playing
  19. Paul Maholm ERA for 2012: 4.91 More sloppy baseball by Yousiless.
  20. He has pitched very well lately, sometimes in long relief. He has the stuff to do well. Had a rough patch, but seems to have overcome it. Regardless of what SCM says, Maholm does stink. We should have at least six runs against him already.
