  1. DiceK meltdown is right on time.
  2. Well, maybe the Yankees, Rays, Orioles and Jays will lose too.
  3. Nope. You guys are smart enough to figure that out on your own. Gonzalez is tough; we aren't getting many runs off him.
  4. I seriously think we will need AT LEAST five runs to win.
  5. And here comes the meltdown. Winning runs are on the bases.
  6. Leadoff walk. Not a good sign.
  7. Check this link out. Its a 2005 table, but its probably not much different than now. http://www.deuceofclubs.com/books/233baseball_between.htm
  8. I think thats overstating it. Some people here wanted to give him more time, but I don't think any sane person loved his performance as a SP
  9. Can't remember who was looking for a review of "Prometheus" http://www.cnn.com/2012/06/08/showbiz/movies/prometheus-review-charity/index.html?hpt=hp_bn9
  10. Yup. Can't waste leadoff doubles like that and expect to win.
  11. Another wasted opportunity. Its what bad teams do. Seven run rule in effect today. We get seven runs and we have even odds of winning this game.
  12. Way to hustle down that line f***you Kilis.
  13. Gonzalez has an ERA that is better than Strasburg, I believe. Runs are going to be tough to come by. Lets just hope he has a bad day; thats the only way we could possibly win this one. Youk will K here.
  14. Congratulations on your graduation. Big step. But thanks but no thanks to the offer. There is only one game thread per forum rules.
  15. I would rather we have a team that dominates too. One that plays .600 ball or better. Well, we don't. I ALWAYS want what I think is best for my team. Usually thats winning baseball games, but sometimes, its LOSING baseball games to force the hand of the management into making the changes necessary to win even more games in the future. Losing games forced the firing of Francona and Epstein last year, steps in the right direction. It could end up that losing games at the end of this year is best for the long term health of the franchise as well. Only short sighted individuals cannot delay gratification for future higher rewards. Thats not just about baseball, its about life as well. There are valid differences of opinion about what form that delayed gratification should take and when it is necessary. IMO last year we lost games just in time. We made a good start; now we have to finish the job of cleaning house.
  16. Not bad. Six games over .500. If we were six games over .500 now we would be tied with the Orioles for third place instead of in LAST PLACE, and just one game behind first place. The time for Middlebrooks is now. f***you Kilis should sail on the last ship into the West.
  17. I know how you feel. There were stretches that I thought that the best thing for the team was to lose game too. The end of last year was an example. I think that in the long run that choke job was for the best. Had we made the playoffs Epstein and Francona would still be here, and fans would not be voting with their feet this year. We were never going to be able to compete for a ring last year; we would have exited in round 1, most likely, anyway. Now everyone can see that the King has no clothes. Its too early this year to wish for losses IMO. If we manage to pry Garza loose from the Cubs, get rid of some deadwood like Youkilis, Byrd, McDonald, Punto, Podsednik, Morales and maybe a few others we could still compete for the playoffs, albeit not a ring. If its getting close to the end of the season and our FO has done nothing to correct our pitching by then, I will be rooting for losses too. If the FO does not see the problem by then, we must not make the playoffs because to do so would provide them with an excuse. And there are no more excuses.
  18. Look at this link and you will see that, in fact, he used to be a very good player. Great patience at the plate, hit for average and power, and won a gold glove at first base. He has fallen off a cliff. And its sad to see. http://www.baseball-reference.com/players/y/youklke01.shtml
