  1. Or move Aviles to 2B and allow Ciriaco to play SS. He was impressive in ST. DL Pedroia before its too late.
  2. I agree that we do not know how it all went down. Bard is on record as saying that he prefers starting, I believe. The issue I have is that it took too long for our FO to see that the experiment was failing and that as a result, they may have ruined a very good RP.
  3. Semperfi is right. That is exactly what will happen. You know it and so does everyone else. Doesn't mean its the right way to win the most games, but its what WILL happen.
  4. Lets see. Who exactly is in charge here: Bard or the FO? Bard is under contract and team control. He should do what he is told to do, and that is what is best for the team, not what is best for Daniel Bard. I could not care less that he wanted to start. So what? He makes his request, and its either accepted or denied. Then he lives with it. Our FO blew it when they allowed him to call the shots and then refused to believe that the experiment had failed for way too long. Look at the results for proof.
  5. Pedroia is the only individual who can play second base defensively in the entire organization; hence the need for him to keep playing hurt and damaging his teams' chances at making the playoffs.
  6. Before that happens Ellsbury should be packaged for quality pitching. We have offense; we don't have enough pitching.
  7. He seems much more selective. Nava always seems to have good ABs. Not sure how long this can continue for him, but its been a fun ride.
  8. I sure hope the FO sees what we are seeing too. There is no way they can send down Middlebrooks, Nava, or Kalish right now or even when Ellsbury and Crawford come back. Those kids bring enthusiasm to the clubhouse. Contrast them with the fat cats who take up roster spots and contribute little: Gonzalez, Youkilis, and yes, Pedroia. I would like to see Lavarnway up pretty soon too, though I am not sure where to put him.
  9. BTW: Rays down 5-2 in the 9th. We will be two games behind the Rays in the lost column. This team was on the precipice but has come back nicely. Still in the race.
  10. That was last year. I think we can stipulate that last year he was very very good. This year he is injured, pressing, or both. He has sucked and he earns too much money to suck.
  11. Wow...great win. This game was won by the kids: Middlebrooks, Nava, and Kalish, along with some great RP from Atchison and Ace. The fat cats on the team keep filling spots in the lineup, but its the kids that have the enthusiasm to produce wins
  12. THat was the third strike to Infante
  13. This could be a real sweet win...
  14. Lets go Ace...no drama needed
  15. The other way to look at it is that its unlikely Nava can keep this up. Could we package him with Youkilis to get some quality pitching....?
  16. Gonzo is such a stiff this year....unbelievable
  17. I would walk Nava to get to Pedroia....mistake by Guillen
  18. This game is ours for the taking
  19. Look at his statistics for the year. Very very good. This year, he is like JD Drew. Or worse.
  20. That HR was Youk's ticket out of town.
  21. Its not going to be any different than what I am saying now. Its the final season stats that matter.
  22. Yeah, he's waiting to pad his stats until we are mathmatically eliminated. There is no way he can make up for the damage he has done to this team for the first nearly three months. Not for what he is being paid.
