  1. Good for nothing at 3B you mean...he is last in fielding percentage for all 3B in the AL. He has made a couple of nice plays tonight, but overall, the best that can be said for him defensively is that he is a work in progress.
  2. I believe that is exactly what Buck said to him as he crossed the third baseline to remove him before Bogey even crossed home plate
  3. I am not a big JBJ fan, ....but...how do you walk a guy who's hitting 9th and batting .170??
  4. Wow....they just walked Bradley.
  5. Leon and Bradley are also an impressive duo in the 8 and 9 spots...in a different way. I guess Holt felt he had to swing at ball four given who was on deck.
  6. Swihart deserves a chance to play regularly, either here or somewhere else. He hasn't been given a fair shot at the job. He may or may not be better than who we have now, but we will never find out with him on the bench. As for Bradley......Cora keeps inserting him into the lineup and expecting different results. Isn't that the definition of insanity?
  7. I don't think three runs are going to win this game...about six sounds right with this bullpen
  8. One the other hand, if he was given playing time maybe he would prove that he was good enough....maybe not, of course. Point is, he was never really given a chance behind the plate. I don't blame him for wanting out.
  9. We are a sub .500 team now over the last 23 games....thats a long period of time to be mediocre.
  10. They should send him down yesterday. Unfortunately, he has shown us exactly what he can do at the plate. Add to that the fact that he is uncoachable, and I think his future with this team is almost as nebulous as that of Swihart, who never got a fair chance at catcher and playing regularly.
  11. Does Bradley have options left? I thought they would need to put him through waivers in order to send him down.
  12. That is what I disagree with. Could he really be worse than the two guys we have now?
  13. There is a place for him since we have two catchers who have already proven that they cannot hit the baseball.
  14. Swihart has never been given a fair chance to play regularly. Its tough to play off and on again.
  15. Like I said....yet he is STILL in there. Cora made a mistake.
  16. He needs to come out of this game while its still in reach....where is Johnson when we need him?
  17. Sure. Why not try to steal third base with Bradley trying to bat him in.
  18. I agree with your point that the loss of velocity decreases the margin for error. However, Pomeranz is never going to blow guys away with a blazing fastball. He will always rely on command rather than velocity. I am confident that he can win a lot of games with his stuff if he can hit the corners-and equally confident that he will lose a lot of games if he cannot command his pitches. The same can be said about a lot of pitchers. Just as a reminder, last year, despite not having a great fastball, he was 17-6 with a 3.32 ERA.
  19. And that is a warped Yankee fan take. Everyone knows that there are guys who do not need velocity to win and that there are guys who throw in the mid to upper 90s who do not win. Its control that matters, not velocity.
  20. Going to be a very long day unless Pomeranz can find the plate soon
  21. Great play by Holt.....btw, these pink uniforms just don't cut it. They are WRONG.
  22. Great! More power to him. Maybe, as I wrote, a change of scenery would help him. At the very least I want him on the pine on a regular basis, entering games as a late inning defensive replacement or given an occasional start to spell the competent OFs we have. He had his chance here. He failed.
  23. With those numbers I doubt any team would "snag him". GMs watch tape. They can see how truly helpless he is at the plate. Maybe a change of scenery will do him some good. I harbor no ill will towards Bradley, but neither do I want him on my team any more. There are alternatives that make us a better club without him.
  24. Tale of the tape as of this morning. Bradley is headed towards being released IMO-if he doesn't accept a demotion to AAA. .167/.510/37 with a WAR of -0.4. Truly horrendous numbers that no amount of defense can make up for.
  25. Bradley makes the third out....why even bother putting him in the lineup? Isn't there anyone at Pawtucket we could bring up to replace him?
