The decision to start a game rests with the home team. The decision to stop the game (temporarily or otherwise) rests with the umps.

His improvement began on June 23 or thereabouts. On that date he was hitting .178/.563; in 37 games and 142 PAs since then he has hit .268/.842. Of late he has been hitting the ball to all fields. I think earlier he was trying to pull everything and couldn't catch up to a fastball. Now he is fouling them off if they are not hittable strikes. Lets hope it continues.

Rangers just tied up the Yankees on a balk by Betances

I doubt they would pair OB, the main announcer, with a guy who he hates. Its just not good business.

Hembree has not been consistently good, but overall I think he has been OK; I believe Kelly will find his groove again.

Barnes has been pretty reliable; so has Brasier. Thornburg lately has been very good as well. No pitcher gets the job done EVERY time out there. I think this pen is good enough to compete for a ring, especially when you combine it with the SP and the offense we have.

Down five runs and its the ninth inning in NY. Back to a 9 game lead.

Benni was overdue...hope the Yankee fans saw that too.

Sox pen is fourth in the league in ERA (fact); and Cora has led his team to the best record in baseball. He has made some bad decisions tonight, but overall he has done an excellent job.

Hembree should be pulled right now-before he gives up the lead.

Cora has had a bad game....

Yankee fans are no doubt scoreboard watching and crying in their beer.

Tie game.....this team keeps finding ways to win games.
  21. FredLynn
Thats what we needed....at least one run there.
  22. FredLynn
Its still winnable...but Cora put his team in a very bad situation. Meanwhile the Yankees are coming back against the Rangers...9-4 now.
  23. FredLynn
Yankees down 8-1 now....so we won't lose ground. Still po'd that Cora fell asleep tonight. He has had a good year managing, but he blew it tonight.
  24. FredLynn
    We need to score here.
  25. FredLynn
Can't allow any more runs to score....
