  1. Patellar tendon ruptures, if promptly repaired, should heal completely and athletes should be able to return to normal activities within 4-6 months, assuming there are no surgical complications. I don't know if Casas had complications but I have heard that he is agressively attacking his rehab.
  2. Devers makes a LOT of money. He gets an average annual salary of $31,350,000 which works out to $51,647 for every plate appearance in 2025. For that money he should be doing what he is told to do for the good of the team. While the situation isn't 100% his fault (the communication from what I hear could have been better) I would assign him 98% of the blame. We don't need players like that on the team. I am glad he is gone.
  3. He’s better than who we will end up with.
  4. What a surprise! We missed out on him too. Good thing we were “interested”. One stated priority was to improve our offense. The other was to get a good SP, which we did. Breslow again did a half ass job. He really needs to be fired.
  5. I’d accept a wager restricted to OPS>.780 over the past three years. The point is that we aren’t getting anyone like that at all. We will sign SOMEONE, followed by the usual excuses as to why we didn’t get someone better.
  6. I’ll counter with I bet we don’t sign an IF with a career OPS at .780 or better. Thats more than generous. Interested?
  7. Hilarious. And your offer was serious? You wanted me to bet that we wouldn’t sign anyone at all?
  8. I’d settle for.780 IF too. Brady won’t take that bet either, preferring to complain about me not taking a sucker bet he proposed.
  9. .800 is fine. Up for it? If not don’t complain when I don’t accept your sucker bet proposal.
  10. I’ll help. It’s John Henry and yes, he is lining his personal pockets with the money he saved not only on Devers but the money he could have reinvested in player salaries to make the team more competitive. Profit over winning. That’s his right but he should be telling the truth. It’s not like he’s fooling anyone. Just be honest: “I’ve decided to reduce payroll to see if we can be competitive with a smaller percentage of revenue being reinvested in our players “. Easy.
  11. The point is that the money should be reinvested in player salaries if the owners aren’t lying about being serious about winning.
  12. I bet that we don’t get a IF with a career OPS of .800 or better to fill our glaring need. Up for the wager?
  13. Who is the majority owner of FSG?
  14. How much did he save by dumping Devers and where did it go?
  15. You must be referring to yourself. I proposed a wager. You declined to accept it.
  16. I’d also put money on us not acquiring the talented offensive player it would take to make us competitors for a ring-by any name
  17. He also pocketed most of Devers money. He pockets the difference between players traded and players acquired on a regular basis. Thats why we are 23rd in percentage of revenue spent on player salaries.
  18. Yup. I’ve consistently written here that it’s Henry’s right to prioritize profits over winning. Obviously that’s what he’s doing too. It’s why we will never win another ring as long as Henry owns the team.
  19. I think we both know the value.
  20. Yup. Too much for Henry in terms of $$$$ and prospects. We aren’t getting Donovan. I’d put money on it.
  21. I would call it a PROBABILITY, not a possibility. Unfortunately that leaves us with a flaccid offense. But maybe you are right-maybe the two roster spots will be filled with players of significance. I have not given up on the ability of Casas to contribute this year either. Its something that isn't talked about here much but I think his career OPS is around .800. If he can get and stay healthy......
  22. And Henry pockets the difference?
  23. They signed Contreras, Suarez, and Gray (as a lower tier SP, not a #2). I am fine with those moves. If they are done signing talent then I am not happy either. I doubt very much we will get Paredes or anyone like him. I suspect that we will get someone worse followed by another litany of excuses.
  24. Exactly! They show a lot of "interest" in good players but rarely sign anyone of consequence. The "more pop in the lineup" simply isn't going to be addressed, at least in the manner that would make us compete for a ring this year. Half assed job at addressing the needs of the team, as usual. Disgusting franchise. LIARS!
